What you'll do
As a Rate Analyst at Giga, you'll play a critical role in optimizing our pricing strategies across our electrical infrastructure products and services. You'll analyze market dynamics, cost structures, and competitive positioning to develop data-driven rate recommendations that balance profitability with market competitiveness. Working cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, and Operations teams, you'll translate complex datasets into actionable insights that directly impact our growth trajectory. This is an opportunity to shape pricing strategy at a fast-growing company operating at the intersection of energy infrastructure and emerging technologies.
Where you'll work
If based outside of our Houston, Long Beach, or San Francisco hubs, this role will be based remotely from your home office. You must be willing to occasionally travel to one of our hub offices.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and develop economic energy-cost pricing models for origination and operations teams deployment of modular data centers.
- Conduct market research and competitive benchmarking to identify pricing opportunities and ensure our energy rates remain competitive in the data operations market
- Build and maintain financial models that evaluate pricing scenarios, margin impact, and profitability across product lines
- Prepare detailed rate analysis reports and presentations for executive leadership with clear recommendations on pricing impacts and adjustments
- Monitor and track key pricing metrics and KPIs, identifying trends and anomalies that require strategic attention
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Operations teams to align pricing strategies with cost structures, market positioning, and revenue goals
- Support contract negotiations and RFP responses with comprehensive rate analysis and documentation
- Ensure pricing compliance with industry regulations and company policies, maintaining accurate documentation of all rate decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in rate analysis, pricing analysis, financial analysis, or related analytical role
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, and financial analysis
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to work with large datasets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Bonus points
- Experience in manufacturing, energy, utilities, or industrial sectors
- Proficiency with SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis programming languages
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
- Familiarity with ERP systems and pricing software platforms
- Knowledge of electrical equipment markets, data center industry, or renewable energy sector
- Background in cost accounting or financial modeling for physical products
- Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CMA
