This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Accounting Compliance Analyst. In this role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring compliance with accounting practices and regulations. You will manage daily operations and closing procedures while supporting the development of the Accounting team and contributing to process improvements. Accountabilities
- Management and oversight of daily, month end/quarter end/year end closing procedures across General Accounting, Corporate Accounting, Treasury and Service Revenue Billing team.
- Support the creation, review and update of supporting SOX narratives and coordinate the SOX testing program.
- Execute internal control procedures across the Accounting team, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SOX.
- Participate in internal and external audits as they arise, including preparation and facilitation as required.
- Foster the development and implementation of new procedures and controls to enhance workflow and accuracy of financial results.
- Support completion of tax returns and any subsequent tax assessments.
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives within the Accounting/Finance department.
- Perform related duties as assigned including inquiries regarding financial results and reporting.
Requirements
- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA designation an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of directly related experience in Finance/Accounting.
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry and/or Audit experience would be an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills and analytical skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Sage, SOX, and other ERP software packages.
