As a Clinical Operations Development Lead, you will oversee and guide the operational execution of clinical development programs across therapeutic areas. You will play a strategic role in designing and implementing clinical trials from early-phase studies through registration and post-approval activities, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and budgets are met. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including project managers, trial managers, and global stakeholders, to mitigate risks and solve operational challenges. You will also provide leadership and mentorship to clinical trial teams, driving consistency, efficiency, and innovation in clinical operations. Your work will directly impact the successful development of therapies, supporting both organizational objectives and patient outcomes. Accountabilities
- Provide operational expertise and strategic input for Clinical Development Plans, ensuring alignment with Target Product Profiles and regulatory expectations
- Oversee the execution of clinical trials within assigned indications, maintaining quality, timelines, budgets, and compliance with ICH-GCP and SOPs
- Act as the primary operational contact for clinical activities and escalation point for trial-level challenges
- Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, coordinating with project managers, cross-functional teams, and leadership committees
- Ensure consistency and efficiency in trial set-up, site selection, and execution across multiple studies within indications
- Collaborate with Clinical Trial Leads, Clinical Trial Managers, and teams to produce and maintain high-quality protocols, operational plans, and trial documentation
- Lead, coach, and mentor clinical operations staff, including onboarding, goal-setting, and continuous development
- Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives across trials and indications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in medical or para-medical disciplines (Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Veterinary, or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 15 years of leadership experience in global clinical development, including early and late-phase trial oversight
- Extensive experience managing outsourced models, including CROs and external collaborators
- Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines, regulatory requirements, and global clinical operations standards
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and team-building skills
- Proven ability to solve complex operational problems, mitigate risks, and manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills in English, with experience collaborating in culturally diverse teams
- Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple complex projects while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience in rare disease or autoimmune clinical trials is a plus
