This role offers an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and independent Commercial Lawyer to provide vital support to a sole practitioner in Australia. With a focus on Australian commercial law, you will handle various transactional and advisory tasks with minimal supervision, showcasing your expertise and contributing to the firm’s efficiency. Your ability to manage a busy workload while maintaining high standards of quality is essential as you assist with crucial legal matters.
Accountabilities
- Draft, review, and advise on a wide range of commercial legal documents, including shareholders’ agreements, sale of business contracts, lease agreements, and contractor agreements.
- Provide legal support for commercial transactions and real estate matters.
- Assist with wills and estates documentation.
- Manage workload autonomously and help streamline workflow for the client.
- Deliver high-quality work that aligns with Australian legal standards and practice norms.
Requirements
- Law degree and current legal practicing certification.
- Minimum of 5–10 years' experience.
- Prior experience working with or supporting senior lawyers or sole practitioners and familiarity with Australian law.
- Demonstrated ability to independently handle legal drafting and contract preparation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong document drafting and legal analysis skills.
- Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision.
