The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient operation of MySQL databases across various versions. This role impacts system performance, security, and integrity by overseeing installation, configuration, and maintenance. You will also collaborate with development teams to optimize queries, implement best practices, and drive database migration projects. This position plays a crucial role in supporting high-availability environments and automating processes to enhance efficiency.
Accountabilities
- Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases.
- Tune database performance and execute backup and recovery strategies.
- Monitor database performance and proactively address issues.
- Implement security measures in compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with developers to optimize queries and improve database design.
- Lead database migration projects (on-prem to cloud/version upgrades).
- Define and implement best practices and automation initiatives.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in MySQL Database Administration.
- In-depth knowledge of MySQL versions 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8 and 8.4.
- Solid understanding of Unix/Linux system administration related to MySQL.
- Proficiency in writing complex shell scripts for automation.
- Good communication skills with technical and management teams.
- Experience in high-availability environments and automation.
