The Senior FP&A Analyst is a commercial and operationally focused role, acting as a finance business partner to the Hayu and EMEA business. It will involve owning all budgeting processes and providing financial support for spend across specific budget cost lines and working collaboratively with controllership counterparts to ensure actuals track to budget. This role will also have responsibility for analysis and insight of subscriber data and subsequent revenue, as well as incremental revenue from promotions. It will also support the development of both Hayu and Universal+ (available in France and Belgium) through best-practice learnings.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering
- Support and guide stakeholders with budgeting as to meet overall and specific financial goals and commitments.
- Work with data team on tracking and reporting subscribers and other key metrics.
- Assess and capture impact of campaign activities for both spend (over/ under) and subscriber trend.
- Own the price promotion models across Hayu and U+ deriving incremental revenue from various parameters.
- Continuously refine and control budget trackers across multiple regions and business units.
- Support business stakeholders with ad-hoc analysis and reconciliations.
Financial Budgeting/ Pacing
- Manage the annual budgeting and monthly pacing process for dedicated P&L lines.
- Prepare and update financial models for revenue and costs for each pacing deadline.
- Ensure most accurate planned allocation of costs by spend type, media, territory and channel/ brand.
- Prepare all relevant slides and analysis for above-mentioned business areas but also broader narrative.
Controllership Support
- Review and approve Purchase Orders, ensuring backup is provided and costs are in line with expectations.
- Prepare back-up required by the controllership team for accruals.
- Own the variance analysis commentary at month-end and support controllership in investigations.
- Support process improvements and explore new solutions to plan, track and report actual spend.
- Work with Accounts Payable for ad hoc issues and requests.
Broader Team Support
- Stay abreast of possible FP&A process improvement and take lead on some automation projects.
- Take lead or provide support on broader financial project analysis and presentations.
Basic Requirements:
- Previous FP&A experience in a similar role, including budgeting and planning.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and multi-task, managing own workload.
- Strong attention to detail, with ability to sense-check own work and feed upwards.
- Excellent Excel and data analysis skills with experience in building models and working with large quantities of data.
- An active interest in seeking out new ways to use automation to bring efficiencies in day-to-day work.
- Strong ability to communicate complex financial insights clearly and confidently to those without a financial background.
- Strong analytical skills.
Desired Characteristics:
- Part qualified Accountant (CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA).
- Experience tracking and reporting on subscribers in a streaming business.
- Knowledge of SAP, BPC and other equivalent FP&A budget-management solutions.
- Experience and knowledge of Tableau, PowerBI or other data visualisation programmes
