About Rocky Talkie
Rocky Talkie launched in 2019 with its signature product, a backcountry radio made for climbers and skiers. Since then, Rocky Talkie has launched multiple best-in-class products and has grown quickly in the handheld radio industry. We are committed to making easy-to-use, durable, high-performance products for the backcountry and to supporting our customers. Rocky Talkie has a rapidly growing base of happy customers in North America and recently expanded to the EU. We design our products for use in extreme conditions, and our radios have been adopted by a wide variety of outdoor enthusiasts and commercial applications. We have a small, passionate, and highly motivated team with a deep understanding of our customers and outdoor communications. We would love your help in bringing Rocky Talkie to a new generation of customers.
Our team is driven every day by the belief that better communication in the backcountry will save lives. As part of this mission, we donate $2 per radio sold to search-and-rescue teams across the country.
The Opportunity
This role is for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of brand, technical products, and community. You’ll work closely with marketing and business leadership to build a cohesive, authentic brand for Rocky Talkie.
This role provides leadership across our brand and creative efforts, with a focus on three core areas: brand strategy, storytelling and content direction, and community building.
We believe we have a unique opportunity at Rocky Talkie to communicate:
- What makes our products meaningfully better
- What Rocky Talkie stands for as an enduring brand in the outdoor community
- How communication improves not only safety, but also performance and experience across different user communities
You’ll help shape our brand strategy and bring it to life through messaging, content, partnerships, and experiences that feel authentic and grounded in real value.
As Rocky Talkie grows, we’re increasingly serving new activities within the adventure sports space, as well as guides, educators, rope technicians, and other professional users who rely on communication tools in high-consequence environments. Experience helping a brand bridge the gap between outdoor storytelling and professional-grade credibility is especially valuable in this role.
As a small team, every leadership role at Rocky Talkie is highly entrepreneurial and creative. This role requires combining strategic planning and guidance with hands-on execution and a player-coach mentality.
