About the Role
As a Senior Direct Marketing Strategist, you will onboard and support clients using our Direct Marketing Services (DMS). You will provide strategic guidance across customer journey and email campaigns, helping clients plan, launch, and improve marketing programs that drive measurable customer action. You will stay closely engaged after launch through ongoing campaign support and collaborative problem solving.
In this role, you will strengthen campaign planning and testing practices, guide performance analysis, and introduce practical best practices that help the team improve results and client outcomes. Through clear communication and strategic guidance, you will help clients increase their return on investment and support consistent, high-quality team performance.
What Your Success Will Look Like
- Lead the strategy, planning, and continuous improvement of multi-channel campaigns across email, text messaging, and direct mail, including audience segmentation, structured testing plans, and performance best practices
- Partner with creative, technical, and client-facing teams to shape messaging, targeting, and campaign structure so programs align with client goals
- Establish and maintain campaign quality standards, including inbox delivery practices, regulatory compliance, and design guidelines
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance (such as open and unsubscribe rates) and share clear reports and actionable insights with stakeholders
- Use internal data, market research, and competitive insights to identify opportunities to improve campaign results and client experience
- Review and refine campaign content through editing and proofreading, and contribute occasional copywriting when needed
- Support and guide less-experienced team members by sharing knowledge and best practices (this role does not include formal people management)
- Troubleshoot complex lifecycle and campaign challenges related to audience targeting, inbox delivery, workflows, and campaign setup
- Build and manage campaign audiences in ServiceTitan and develop working expertise in ServiceTitan Marketing Pro (or similar marketing platforms) to support advanced campaign needs
- Coordinate work with a small external partner (offshore) team by assigning tasks, providing direction, and reviewing deliverables to ensure quality and timeliness (vendor coordination, not direct employee management)
Who You Are And What You Bring
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
- Experience
- 4+ years of experience in direct or lifecycle marketing
- Experience building and improving multi-channel campaigns across email, text messaging, reputation or review programs, and direct mail
- Experience contributing to campaign strategy, messaging, testing, and performance improvement
- Skills
- Experience using marketing automation or campaign management platforms (experience with any major platform is welcome; product-specific tools can be learned on the job)
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and apply best practices when working with clients and cross-functional teammates
- Data-informed approach with the ability to interpret campaign results, identify trends, and recommend practical improvements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including editing and presenting recommendations to clients or stakeholders
- Client-focused problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business goals into actionable campaign plans
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and make well-supported recommendations
- Ability to share knowledge and guidance with teammates without direct management responsibility
- Experience coordinating or managing work delivered by external vendors or partner teams, including task delegation and quality review, is a plus

Compensation
We acknowledge that states have passed legislation promoting pay transparency. As a national employer, Scorpion has made the decision to post our expected pay rate or pay range (as applicable) in all our job postings, regardless of geographic location.
- The base salary range is $75,000 (entry-level) - $85,000 (highly experienced), exclusive of fringe benefits. If you are hired at Scorpion, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the total salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
- The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses or commissions.
