We are looking for a talented Channel Sales Engineer to join our growing global team at Sectigo.
The Channel Sales Engineer serves as the technical enablement leader for Sectigo’s partner ecosystem, acting as the primary technical resource to help partners successfully position, sell, and deploy Sectigo solutions. This role focuses on scaling technical expertise through partners, ensuring they understand Sectigo’s value proposition, use cases, and differentiation across customer environments. This individual combines strong technical acumen with the ability to educate, influence, and enable partner sales and technical teams. Rather than owning all technical execution directly, the Channel Sales Engineer empowers partners to confidently engage customers throughout the pre-sales lifecycle, from discovery and solution positioning to demonstrations and proof-of-concept guidance.
At Sectigo, Channel Sales Engineers operate as a strategic extension of the sales organization, collaborating closely with channel partners, channel account managers, sales engineers, product management, and marketing to drive partner-led growth.
This is a full-time and remote position based in the U.S.
Here are the core functions, responsibilities, and expectations for this role:
- Enable and support channel partners in positioning and selling Sectigo solutions to mid-market and enterprise customers.
- Deliver partner-focused technical enablement, including solution overviews, architecture discussions, and demonstrations tailored to partner sales teams, technical teams, and customer-facing audiences.
- Support partner-led sales cycles by providing technical guidance, use-case validation, and best-practice recommendations throughout the pre-sales process.
- Assist partners during proofs of concept by offering direction, troubleshooting guidance, and validation, while encouraging partner ownership of execution where appropriate.
- Develop and deliver partner training sessions, workshops, and enablement content to improve partner readiness and self-sufficiency.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for partner inquiries and collaborate with internal teams as needed to resolve issues.
- Partner with Channel Account Managers to support joint go-to-market initiatives, account planning, and strategic partner engagements.
- Provide technical input into RFPs, RFIs, and proposals in support of partner-led opportunities.
- Capture and communicate partner and customer feedback to Product Management to influence roadmap priorities and feature enhancements.
- Participate in alliance initiatives and joint partner activities to strengthen vendor and customer relationships.
- Travel regionally to support partner engagements, customer meetings, and industry or marketing events as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of company initiatives and business objectives.
- Additional tasks associated with this position may be assigned in response to company initiatives and business needs.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering from an accredited college, or equivalent work experience is strongly recommended.
- MCP – Microsoft Certified Professional (considered an asset).
- Linux/Solaris/UNIX System Administration (considered an asset).
- Azure/GCP/AWS Certification (considered an asset).
Ability and Availability to Travel:
- Must be able to travel more than 35% of the time to the assigned regions and/or territories.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience, with prior exposure to pre-sales, sales engineering, professional services, or partner-facing technical roles is required.
- Experience working with or supporting channel partners, system integrators, MSPs, or resellers strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory and Windows Server environments.
- Experience with Linux-based platforms.
- Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), X.509 certificates, SSL/TLS (considered an asset).
- Exposure to web servers, load balancers, firewalls, and enterprise infrastructure environments (considered an asset).
- Experience with public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) (considered an asset).
- Scripting or automation experience using tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash and interacting with REST APIs (considered an asset).
Ideal Candidate Profiles, Talents, and Desired Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across sales, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Experience supporting SaaS-based solutions in a customer-facing or partner-facing capacity.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple partner engagements simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve technical and partner-enablement skills.
- English language proficiency required.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time if required.
