At Spotify, the distance between a "big bet" in code and a headline in the press is bridged by incredible storytelling. We are looking for a Senior Manager, Product & Technology Communications to serve as the vital connective tissue between our R&D powerhouses and our Global Communications team.
This is a high-impact, hybrid role designed for a master navigator. You will sit on the Communications & PR team and collaborate most closely with the Internal Communications and Product & Partnership Communications Teams. You’ll partner directly with the Head of Consumer Experience and the Head of Technology & Platforms to shape their internal narratives and, more importantly, to identify the internal breakthroughs that deserve a global stage. You’ll be the bridge-builder who ensures our Consumer Product Comms team is armed with the best insights from the engine room, turning technical complexity into consumer magic.
What You'll Do
- The R&D Intelligence Lead: Embed yourself within the Consumer Experience and Tech & Platforms teams to identify the "Bets" that have the highest potential for external impact. You’ll be the scout who finds the stories before they even hit the roadmap.
- Executive Voice & Strategy: Act as a strategic counselor and communications partner for our VP of Consumer Experience and SVP of Tech & Platforms, ensuring their internal messaging is high-signal, inspiring, and aligned with the Spotify Rhythm.
- The Connective Tissue: Serve as the primary liaison between Product/Tech leads and the Consumer Product Comms team. You’ll translate deep-tech milestones into clear, pitchable narratives that help the external team prioritize global storytelling.
- Navigate the Friction: Manage the "healthy tension" between two highly opinionated groups: the technical visionaries building the product and the comms experts protecting the brand. You’ll use data, gut instinct, and diplomacy to align these stakeholders.
- Internal-to-External Pipeline: Treat internal communications as the "testing ground" for external narratives. You’ll gauge employee sentiment and technical readiness to help time and refine our public-facing launches.
- Orchestrate the Rhythm: Play a key role in the Spotify Rhythm, ensuring that the cadence of our internal technical updates matches the velocity of our product innovation.
Who You Are
- The High-Level Translator: You have 8–12 years of experience in tech communications. You can sit in a room of engineers and product designers, understand the nuances of a backend shift, and immediately see the "hook" for a consumer audience.
- The Diplomatic Heavyweight: You are comfortable working with senior, opinionated leaders. You know how to push back with grace, influence without formal authority, and navigate ever-evolving priorities.
- Independent & Collaborative: You are a self-starter who can work in the "white space" between teams without needing a constant map, but you know exactly when to pull others in.
- Data-Informed & Intuitive: You don't just rely on spreadsheets; you have a "spidey-sense" for what makes a great story. You use a mix of sentiment data and seasoned instinct to make the call on what to prioritize.
- AI-Native: You use AI tools as a creative collaborator to draft, synthesize complex technical docs, and experiment with new ways of visualizing our product journey.
- Human & Fresh: You speak "Spotifier." You reject stiff, corporate jargon in favor of a voice that is authentic, witty, and unmistakably us.
- See the Forest and the Trees: You’re able to navigate day-to-day, always-on storytelling opportunities and what is worthy of stop sign moment. You also recognize and can influence what is worthy of sharing outside of our walls and what deserves the external spotlight.
- Value Internal Communications: You treat internal storytelling as the ultimate insider experience. By the time the Consumer Product Comms team is ready to tell the world about a new feature, you’ve already ensured that the people who built it—and the people who work alongside them—are its biggest advocates.

- This role is based in London, UK
- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home
- We ask that you come in 2-3 times per week
