At the age of 53 and after more than 31 years at the helm of another leading international construction organization, John A. Caddell founded Caddell Construction in 1983-initially working from his family home. Caddell has since grown into a major construction operation headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama, with projects worldwide. Today, Caddell Construction is one of the most respected general contractors in the nation with more than $8.3 billion in current and completed projects and multiple national awards from construction industry peers. Milestone Caddell projects have included the U. S. Embassy in Beijing; renovations to the Denver Mint; Terminals A & C at Houston's George Bush International Airport; three unique advanced technology facilities for the Spallation Neutron Source Program at Oak Ridge National Laboratory; the Power & Desalination plant at Ascension Island; the "Patton" Command & Control Headquarters Complex at Shaw AFB; and one of Caddell's most ambitious projects to date-the U. S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan. In 2013, after 30 years of consistent growth and profitability, Caddell began the transition from a family-owned to an employee-owned company. Today, Caddell moves confidently forward into the new century equipped with some of the industry's best construction professionals and building technology.
