We are creating a web and mobile platform that makes charitable giving better for average donors and lower cost for nonprofits. We are focused on enhancing the giving experience for donors-simple, straightforward, and more engaging. We do this, first, by creating free 'Charity Funds' for every donor. This is a fund in which money input is instantly tax-deductible and then can be later sent, digitally, to any 501(c)(3) organization at any time. It's like having your own personal foundation for giving. This enables a donor to execute all of their giving from one place, and no matter how many charities or gifts involved, there is only a single tax deduction (Charityvest). Second, the platform will include a suite of simple, 'Mint.com-like' tools to help donors track and direct their giving in better ways. Third, the platform will be social, enabling donors to engage collaboratively with others on the platform and administrate personal fundraising on behalf of registered charities. Behind the curtain, giving is expensive. Nonprofits must pay sizable transaction fees on giving platforms and/or process labor-intensive paper checks. Then they must issue receipts back to donors. This means resources diverted from impact. Charityvest is designed to make the process of giving free--or as close as possible--for everyone. It does this by functioning like a bank. Some portion of the aggregate capital in the platform will be invested in extremely low-risk securities to create a financial return. Because of the potential to automate giving administration across large economies of scale, and the magnitude of charitable dollars per user (average household giving in US is $2974 per year), it is very likely that a sustainable financial revenue model could be achieved within a few years to make giving completely free for the first time. The impact of this platform could be billions more dollars directed toward impact-producing activities instead of administration.
