Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is a nationwide network of compassionate veterinarians dedicated to in-home end-of-life care for pets. Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice & In-Home Euthanasia was started in 2009 by Dr. Dani McVety when she saw the need for this service in the Tampa, FL area. The community's desire for compassionate end of life veterinary care was obvious and she began receiving calls from all over the United States. After collaborating with her colleague and friend from veterinary school, Dr. Mary Gardner, this service was opened in South Florida. The two quickly took the company national, revolutionizing end of life care for pets and the people that love them. They have also been instrumental in brining education and awareness surrounding veterinary hospice and euthanasia processes to their medical profession. In just a few short years, Drs. McVety and Gardner have spoken at countless national veterinary conferences as well as to local veterinarians and universities about veterinary hospice, palliative care, and euthanasia. Lap of Love has been featured in numerous newspapers, magazines, television news stations, radio shows, and veterinary related publications. The philosophy centers around the human-animal bond and the need for that bond to be as undisturbed as possible during this most difficult time. The desire to bring this important service to families across the United States is slowly being realized as the philosophy-centered team quickly expands nationwide.
