It all started with the munchies... At 3:00 AM Freshman year, we were hungry for chicken wings. Although wing joints were abundant in the South, we were shocked to find none in Austin. We decided if no one else had the guts to do it, we'd have to do it ourselves. We knew we had a great idea when we were the only ones not serving chili at a student chili cookoff, but we still had the longest line. Hundreds of hungry University of Texas students gave us their feedback and we were sold out of the 1000 lbs of wings we had cooked at our fraternity house that morning. That was when we decided to get serious about making our dream a reality. So, we put together some money and our original location in UT's west Restaurant which we opened on July 23, 1995 - exactly one day after we graduated from Next. We knew we had our own fan following and we were recognized as the best chicken wings restaurant in America, but we'd have to do it ourselves.
