1Password is seeking a Director of Field Marketing to build and scale a revenue pioneering field marketing team that delivers measurable pipeline, accelerates sales cycles, and strengthens relationships with our most strategic accounts.
This leader will design and operationalize a portfolio of field marketing programs- from executive hospitality and regional events to third-party partnerships and co-marketing activations- into repeatable, scalable “programs in a box.” 1Password is developing our field marketing strategy around iconic sports partnerships and exclusive access to thought leaders to deliver “money can’t buy” experiences to draw in and engage our target IT and Security leader persona. This leader will ensure every investment, from an F1 race weekend to a behind closed doors CISO dinner, ladders up to pipeline growth and customer expansion.
This is a highly visible role that blends creativity, operational rigor, and sales alignment. The ideal candidate understands how to collaborate with sales leaders to secure the right attendees and connect executive experiences to business impact, turning moments of engagement into measurable outcomes.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What you will do:
Build a scalable field marketing framework, aligning regional programs to corporate demand generation and pipeline goals.
Define and standardize “program in a box” templates for repeatable execution, including playbooks, audience targeting models, messaging frameworks, and follow-up processes.
Partner closely with Sales and RevOps to identify high-priority accounts and locations, and translate GTM priorities into field activation plans.
Establish a marketing-led framework for audience and attendance strategy, defining how we identify, invite, and engage the right contacts and accounts to achieve consistent, high-value participation across all field programs.
Build quarterly and annual field plans and budgets that include executive experiences, customer expansion programs, and partner activations.
Evolve sports marketing activations (e.g., NHL and NBA partnerships) into repeatable VIP experiences across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, designed to strengthen executive relationships and customer retention.
Define and execute a marketing-led strategy for attendee acquisition and engagement across all executive hospitality events. This includes full accountability for filling seats and maximizing ticket utilization, ensuring “sold out” attendance without reliance on sales.
Evolve sports marketing activations (e.g., NHL and NBA partnerships) into repeatable VIP experiences across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, designed to strengthen executive relationships and customer retention.
Develop pre-, during-, and post-event engagement strategies that convert attendance into pipeline, including creative follow-up activations and meeting conversion tactics.
Oversee the team responsible for operational execution and attendee experience, ensuring consistent excellence across every event.
Scale regional CISO round table events, third-party forum sponsorships, and thought leadership events in partnership with 1Password’s Field CISO and demand generation teams.
Select regional IT security event sponsorships that align to 1Password’s brand and demand generation objectives. Plan and execute 1Password’s presence at each of these events.
Standardize execution through turnkey event kits, including content assets, talk tracks, and post-event playbooks.
Build post-event incentive frameworks (e.g., meeting-driven rewards) that drive re-engagement and accelerate opportunity generation.
Collaborate with the partner leadership and partner marketing teams to identify opportunities for sponsored or jointly executed field marketing events with channel and technology partners.
Launch joint customer and partner user groups, co-sponsored field activations, and better-together campaigns.
Enable scalable partner-led field activations through plug-and-play templates and brand assets.
Define KPIs that link every field activation to pipeline impact, including influenced revenue, opportunity acceleration, and ROI.
Build reporting frameworks and dashboards that track performance across program types, regions, and personas.
Analyze outcomes, surface insights, and continuously optimize tactics, budgets, and partner strategies.
Build and lead a high-performing team. Coach and mentor direct reports, maintain a deep understanding of the team’s talent, and implement plans to hire, develop and optimize talent for current business needs.
Build repeatable, automated customer journeys leveraging email, in-app messaging, knowledge base, community, and AI/automation.
Who you are:
10+ years of B2B marketing experience, with deep expertise in field, experiential, or regional marketing.
Experience within a Cybersecurity SaaS company
Proven ability to design and scale repeatable field programs that align with enterprise sales motions.
Demonstrated success running high-touch executive events that generate pipeline and deepen customer engagement.
Strategic thinker with strong operational discipline who is able to move seamlessly between big-picture planning and flawless execution.
Deep understanding of enterprise security or SaaS markets, and familiarity with buyer personas across IT, security, and C-suite.
Highly collaborative, cross-functional leader who thrives working with sales, partnerships, and executives.
Data-driven and outcome-oriented, with a focus on measurable business results.
Willingness to travel frequently (25–40%) to oversee major activations.
What success looks like:
Field marketing is operating as a repeatable growth engine, not a series of one-off events.
Acting as the connective tissue between Marketing and Sales - sharing insights, wins, and customer feedback both ways. Building strong alignment between teams on shared pipeline and revenue goals.
C-suite and executive attendance rates increase at key hospitality activations.
Field programs directly contribute to pipeline creation, acceleration, and customer expansion.
Partner and 1Password Field CISO activations scale efficiently through standardized templates and enablement kits.
Post-event follow-up is automated, personalized, and proven to convert engagement into opportunities.
