Position Overview:

The Associate Director of Aesthetics AI Strategy will be a critical leader that helps develop, champion and execute AbbVie’s Aesthetics AI. This role serves as a strategic thought partner that develops the U.S. Aesthetics AI strategy, supports prioritized AI initiatives in the U.S, and plays a key role in driving operational excellence in line with business objectives and patient impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Aesthetics AI Strategy Development: Support the Aesthetics business unit in defining their AI strategy, identifying opportunities where AI can help accelerate strategic business priorities and incorporating the latest innovations in AI from across the industry.
  • Support Priority AI Initiatives: Support the development and roll-out of high-priority AI pilots, monitor and report on progress, and scale learnings into BU-level initiatives.
  • Deep AI Expertise: Apply expertise in Machine Learning, Generative AI and Agentic AI, to contribute to innovative solutions.
  • Operational Excellence: Assist in establishment and execution of operational frameworks and governance, ensuring cross-functional communication and integration across business units.
  • Support cross-cutting enablers: Provide thought leadership and support in cross-cutting capabilities including but not limited to technology enablement, responsible AI, and data readiness.

Education & Strategy Experience:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in related field, e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, Physics, Mathematics, Computational Chemistry, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related discipline. Commensurate professional experience in AI/ML can also substitute for formal degree.
  • 6+ years of experience in strategy, with experience in directly serving life sciences, CPG/Luxury Beauty or technology companies on AI initiatives.
  • Broad understanding of emerging technologies in AI/ML.
  • Effective project management and teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate across multiple management levels and thrive in cross-functional settings.
  • Key competencies: experience in AI/ML, enterprise thinking with ability to build credibility within the organization; time management, project management mastery, strong interpersonal skills (i.e. communication adaptability, meeting facilitation, negotiation, mediation, conflict management), and ability to successfully adapt to changing requirements.

Preferred:

  • 2-3 years from a Top-Tier management consulting firm.
  • Advanced degree in a computational field.
  • Professional experience at a product-focused technology company (e.g., Big Tech, start-ups).
