Job Type: Full-time, Remote
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, U.S. Eastern Time (EST/EDT)
Salary: USD $2,000–$2,500/month, based on experience

About the Company
Our client is a growing U.S.-based commercial plumbing contractor specializing in new construction projects across the multifamily, hospitality, retail, industrial, and mixed-use sectors.
With over a decade of industry experience, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality plumbing systems on complex, multi-story developments. Operating with a collaborative, hands-on team, they are expanding their project portfolio and investing in experienced professionals who can independently manage estimating, drawing coordination, BIM/CAD work, and project documentation.
About the Role
We're looking for a Mid-Level Plumbing Estimator / CAD & BIM Specialist to join a growing U.S.-based commercial plumbing contractor.
This role is ideal for an experienced plumbing professional who can independently handle plumbing takeoffs and estimating while also working confidently with construction drawings, AutoCAD shop drawings, BIM coordination, RFIs, revisions, and project documentation.
You will work closely with the owner and senior team but will be expected to take ownership of assigned estimates and technical drawing-related tasks with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate has strong commercial plumbing knowledge, understands how plumbing systems are installed in complex projects, and can translate construction documents into accurate quantities, estimates, and coordinated drawings.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to take on greater responsibility across both estimating and technical/CAD/BIM coordination.
What You'll Do
Plumbing Estimating & Takeoffs
Independently prepare accurate plumbing estimates and quantity takeoffs for commercial construction projects.
Review architectural, plumbing, mechanical, structural, and civil drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
Perform detailed takeoffs for plumbing fixtures, piping, equipment, fittings, valves, and other plumbing materials.
Develop material and labor estimates based on project scope, drawings, specifications, and historical pricing.
Identify scope gaps, discrepancies, conflicts, and missing information before submitting bids.
Solicit and coordinate pricing from vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers.
Prepare complete and competitive bid packages.
Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting strict bid deadlines.
Assist with pricing strategies and provide recommendations based on project scope and requirements.
CAD & BIM
Review and interpret AutoCAD drawings, plumbing plans, details, and shop drawings.
Prepare, modify, and update plumbing shop drawings using AutoCAD.
Assist with plumbing layout, drafting, and drawing revisions based on project requirements.
Participate in BIM coordination and review plumbing models for potential clashes or design conflicts.
Coordinate plumbing layouts with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other trade drawings.
Review BIM models and coordination documents to identify conflicts before construction.
Incorporate design changes, field conditions, and project revisions into drawings and documentation.
Maintain accurate drawing files, revisions, and technical documentation throughout the estimating and pre-construction process.
RFIs & Project Support
Prepare and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) related to plumbing scope, drawings, specifications, and coordination issues.
Review revised drawings and addenda and determine their impact on project scope and pricing.
Prepare estimated revisions and change-order pricing when project requirements change.
Assist with submittals, product documentation, and other project documentation as needed.
Communicate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and other construction professionals to clarify technical requirements.
Support the team through the transition from estimating and pre-construction into project execution.
Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of commercial plumbing estimating experience.
Strong experience with commercial, industrial, multifamily, hospitality, retail, or mixed-use construction projects.
Ability to independently perform plumbing takeoffs and develop complete estimates.
Strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems, materials, installation methods, and construction practices.
Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, plumbing, mechanical, and construction drawings.
Hands-on AutoCAD experience, preferably with plumbing shop drawings or construction drafting.
Experience with BIM coordination and construction models.
Experience preparing, reviewing, or responding to RFIs.
Experience managing drawing revisions, addenda, and scope changes.
Familiarity with New York, New Jersey, or Northeast U.S. plumbing codes strongly preferred.
Civil Engineering degree, construction-related degree, or equivalent plumbing trade qualification preferred.
Strong understanding of project specifications, plumbing codes, and ADA requirements.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

What We're Looking For
