The Senior Salesforce Technical Project Manager leads enterprise-level Salesforce delivery initiatives
across Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and their associated integrations. This role requires a
strong mix of technical delivery leadership, project/program management, and cross-system integration
oversight, with an emphasis on MuleSoft-driven API-led connectivity.
This position acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, Salesforce engineering teams,
integration architects, and external system vendors. You will plan, coordinate, and manage complex
technical implementations, guide solution design discussions, and ensure delivery quality through
structured Agile methodologies, CI/CD governance, and best-practice architecture patterns.
The Senior Salesforce Technical Project Manager provides end-to-end oversight across technical design,
development, testing, deployment, and stabilization—ensuring predictable, high-quality outcomes for a
multi-cloud Salesforce environment and its connected enterprise ecosystem.
Primary Duties
- 1. Technical Project Leadership & Execution Oversight
- Lead multiple Salesforce and integration workstreams across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Health Cloud, Experience Cloud, and middleware (MuleSoft).
- Drive planning, estimation, solution walkthroughs, technical task orchestration, and cross-team execution management.
- Review and translate business requirements into actionable technical delivery plans.
- Oversee technical design sessions with Architects, Developers, and Integration Engineers.
2. Cross-Functional & Team Leadership
- Coordinate with Salesforce Admins, Developers, DevOps Engineers, Integration Engineers, Data teams, Security and partner vendor teams.
- Facilitate alignment across parallel workstreams (Data, Security, Product, Analytics, Integrations).
- Ensure clear communication of project timelines, risks, decisions, and dependencies.
- Conduct regular 1-on-1s to align individual career goals with organizational needs, identifying growth opportunities for Admins and Developers alike.
- Set clear KPIs and performance benchmarks, providing constructive, real-time feedback to maintain a high-performing engineering culture.
- Ensure team adherence to best practices, standards, and governance processes
3. Salesforce Solution & Integration Delivery Governance
- Ensure technical solutions follow Salesforce best practices, data modeling standards, automation patterns, and platform guardrails.
- Work closely with Solution Architects and Security Architects to validate solution alignment and integration approach.
- Support detailed technical implementation planning, sequence diagrams, and cross-system process mapping.
- Oversee integration execution using MuleSoft (preferred), including API-led architecture, error handling, and orchestration.
4. Agile Project Execution & Salesforce CI/CD Governance
- Ensure technical deliverables adhere to CI/CD practices using GitHub, Gearset, SFDX, automated testing, and environment governance.
- Oversee sandbox strategy, environment syncs, and release sequencing across DEV QA UAT PROD.
- Enforce release governance, quality gates, risk management, and deployment compliance.
5. Stakeholder, Vendor & Program Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for program sponsors, product leadership, and senior technical stakeholders.
- Communicate status, risks, and decisions effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Manage external system integrators and vendor partners to ensure performance, quality, and contractual alignment.
- Track project KPIs, delivery velocity, risk registers, RAID logs, and overall program health.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience managing Salesforce or enterprise SaaS technology projects.
- 6+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager or Program Manager in complex multi- system environments.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Health Cloud, Experience Cloud, and custom solutions.
- Working knowledge of Apex, Flows, Lightning components, Salesforce APIs, and data integrations.
- Experience delivering integration projects using MuleSoft or similar middleware (Snaplogic, Dell Boomi, Informatica etc..).
- Experience with Agile delivery frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, Git branching strategies, and DevOps tooling (GitHub, Gearset, SFDX).
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional, multi-vendor teams.
Preferred KSAs
- Experience in healthcare, financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries.
- Working knowledge of Health Cloud provider/patient data models and care coordination workflows.
- Certification(s): Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Platform App Builder, CSM, or SAFe certifications.
- Strong background in automation testing frameworks and release governance.
- Experience partnering with global consulting firms or managing large-scale multi-vendor programs.
- Exposure to Enterprise Architecture practices and API governance models.
Domain Specific Experience
Salesforce Technical Delivery
- Strong understanding of Salesforce data architecture, security model, automation frameworks, and platform limits.
- Ability to participate in technical design reviews, evaluate solution options, and guide teams through design decisions.
- Familiarity with Salesforce release cycles, sandbox refresh strategies, deployment planning, and regression strategy.
Integration Architecture & Execution (MuleSoft Preferred)
- Knowledge of API-led integration patterns: System APIs, Process APIs, Experience APIs.
- Experience managing real-time, batch, and event-driven integrations.
- Ability to oversee API design, error handling, data transformation, authentication flows, and integration monitoring.
Project/Program Leadership
- Skilled in managing RAID logs, burn-down charts, delivery dashboards, and project financials.
- Strong facilitation skills to lead technical workshops, design discussions, and cross-team decision sessions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time. Extensive use of computers and keyboard. Occasional walking and lifting may be required.
