Role Requirements:

Alpha FMC is looking for a Sigma Business Intelligence Architect to join our growing team. We are seeking people with strong Front Office Technology skills, along with a personal desire to build a unique, world-class service offering for our clients.

Business Intelligence Architect: You will design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data and client reporting solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to deliver robust data platforms, pipelines, and integrations while adhering to industry best practice. In your role as a Sigma Business Intelligence Architect, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of Sigma-based analytics solutions, encompassing discovery workshops, technical architecture design, data source integration, user acceptance testing, and comprehensive knowledge transfer to client teams.
  • Create semantic layers and data models within Sigma that enable self-service analytics while maintaining data governance, consistency, and query performance across the platform.
  • Define and lead project planning to establish a detailed statement of work and tasks associated for a successful implementation.
  • Design and build intuitive, interactive dashboards and reports that translate complex business requirements into user-friendly analytics experiences.
  • Manage the governance of implementation projects including regular status calls with project progression updates, monitoring individual project tasks and budget. Provide effective and proactive communication to Clients and the Alpha project team.
  • Build and mentor a cross-functional team of data engineers, analysts, and implementation specialists to deliver high-quality Sigma deployments.
  • Ensure documentation and development are aligned with defined specifications and cloud architecture standards.
  • Define and promote best practice technical methodologies for implementation, such as SDLC, data architecture, data migration strategies, and integration patterns, while influencing client teams to adopt industry best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of internal accelerators and propositions within a BI / reporting focused framework.
  • Willingness to travel when required

Role Requirements (Skills, Experience and Qualifications)

General skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Management Information Systems, or related field or commensurate level of experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Technology Consulting, Business Analysis, or related fields.
  • Proven expertise in managing the full implementation lifecycle of client reporting or data transformation projects
  • Experience with one or more in the following technical area(s) specific to the investment management industry:
    • Relational data platforms (Snowflake, Data Bricks, SQL Server, Oracle) and data modelling
    • Data engineering with ETL/ELT and data integration tools
    • Data architecture
  • Experience with one or more of the following Programming Language(s):
    • SQL, XML, C#, .NET, Assembly
  • Advanced knowledge in designing scalable, secure, and reliable data solutions.
  • Experience with data lifecycle management, data governance, and quality frameworks.
  • Outstanding demonstrated verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills.

Preferred skills:

  • Proficiency with one or more client reporting and BI platform(s)
    • Client Reporting: Seismic, Kurtosys, SimCorp Coric, FactSet Vermilion, Assette
    • BI Solutions: Sigma, PowerBI, Tableau, SSRS, Qlik
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Sigma platform including:
    • Data model and workbook development
    • Custom JavaScript and Sigma extensions
    • Sigma API and SDK integration
  • Experience in Consulting or Professional Services
  • Experience in SDLC (Agile / Waterfall) within the SCRUM framework, CI/CD or other methodologies.
  • Strong experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience with Investment Management Systems and financial instruments.
  • Experience with the functional work areas of investment organizations (Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office).
  • Experience with asset and wealth management reporting components (Factsheets, Holdings, Performance, Characteristics, Disclosures, Commentaries, etc.)
  • Entrepreneurial approach.

Compensation and Perks:

The anticipated base salary for this role varies based on geographic location and is structured across three compensation zones. These zones reflect local market conditions and cost of labor. Geographic placement is determined by the employee’s primary work location.

Zone A | $163,000 – $186,200
Applies to candidates working in designated high-cost metropolitan areas, including: Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Boston, MA; New York City, NY; and Washington, DC, as well as remote roles based in Massachusetts or the New York Tri-State Area.

Zone B | $135,000 – $170,000
Applies to candidates working in key metropolitan markets, including: Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC; Denver, CO; and Philadelphia, PA, as well as remote roles based in Texas, California, Pennsylvania, Florida, or Colorado.

Zone C | $125,000 – $160,075

Toronto | CAD 170,000 - CAD 205,675
Applies to candidates working in the Toronto region

Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and work location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. We are committed to equitable and transparent compensation practices across all locations.
