Full-time📈 Mid Level💰 $62,435 – $75,353🇺🇸 USA📅 Aug 25, 2026

We’re excited to share an upcoming opportunity pending a contract award and are connecting with qualified candidates in advance. Once we identify the right candidate, we anticipate extending a contingent offer, with employment dependent on final award confirmation and funding.

At Altarum, we’re driven by a simple but powerful mission: improving the health of individuals with fewer financial resources and populations underserved by the healthcare system. We partner with federal and state agencies to design and deliver solutions that make a real, measurable difference.

About the Role

This is an entry-level role on our training and technical assistance team, built for someone ready to grow a career in behavioral health training. You’ll work under the guidance of senior training staff as you build your skills, with a primary focus on helping behavioral health and social service providers understand how to support individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges, physical health impairments, and/or co-occurring substance use disorders in accessing disability benefits — Supplemental Security Income and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSI/SSDI). This role is designed to grow with you: as you develop your expertise, you’ll build toward delivering trainings independently.

What You’ll Do

    Training Delivery and Facilitation

  • Co-facilitate and support the delivery of trainings for clinical and non-clinical staff, working alongside senior training staff
  • Help prepare, organize, and update training materials
  • Support the coordination of training logistics and cohort scheduling
  • Gather and summarize participant feedback to help evaluate training effectiveness
  • Technical Expertise

  • Build your foundational knowledge of SSI/SSDI programs, disability determination processes, and recovery-oriented behavioral health practices
  • Provide entry-level guidance to program staff on basic reporting and documentation tasks, under supervision
  • Support data collection and outcome-tracking activities
  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Help build relationships with behavioral health providers and community partners, as directed by senior staff
  • Assist in preparing materials and communications for stakeholders
  • Continuous Improvement and Collaboration

  • Contribute to the development of training resources, toolkits, and guides
  • Participate in team meetings to learn best practices from senior trainers

What You’ll Bring

    Minimum Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of experience in behavioral health recovery supports or related social services (internship or practicum experience considered)
  • Interest in or exposure to training, coaching, or technical assistance delivery
  • Willingness to learn SSI/SSDI and other disability benefit processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support in-person trainings
  • Valued Experience

  • Lived experience navigating disability benefits or behavioral health systems — personally or through a family member — is valued and may substitute for some of the experience above

Even Better if You Bring

Experience or residence in the state of Michigan.
