Scrum Master I

If residing within commutable distance to one of our offices, a hybrid schedule would be required (3 days in office, 2 days work from home). Those outside of commutable distance may be considered on a remote basis.

As a Scrum Master I, you will play a key role in enabling a single Scrum team to deliver on strategic initiatives by implementing Agile practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will be the servant leader and facilitator, guiding the team through Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and ensuring the team operates efficiently and collaboratively. Your focus will be on driving value delivery while encouraging an environment where the team can thrive.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, Product Managers, Product Owners, and Engineers to ensure the team’s strategic initiatives are planned, developed, and delivered on time, aligning with intended value.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective) to drive team-level continuous improvement and value delivery.
• Guide the team to identify and address dependencies and risks during Big Room Planning (PI Planning), helping the team align on quarterly OKRs, scope, and capacity.
• Support the Product Owner by:
  • Assisting in product discovery and using Agile prioritization techniques to manage the team’s backlog.
  • Coaching the teams on backlog refinement and estimation practices, ensuring concise, actionable stories (e.g. vertical slicing)
• Build a high-performing, self-organizing team by fostering team cohesion, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Actively identify and help remove impediments, both technical and non-technical, that affect team delivery.
• Promote the use of Agile metrics to track team performance, improve quality, predictability, and flow.
• Enable the team to take ownership of their work and actions, guiding them through retrospectives and teaching problem-solving techniques.
• Ensure transparency into the team’s progress by providing clear and regular updates to stakeholders.
• Implement and promote Agile quality practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and use of CI/CD pipelines.

IDEAL EXPERIENCE:

• BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area. 
• Experience in Project Management and Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, etc.) typically obtained through 3 years of experience.
• org PSM I or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) is preferred.
• Proficiency in Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, Jira Align or similar tools.
• Experience managing SaaS product development or large-scale enterprise solutions.
• Proven success in leading Agile transitions and fostering collaboration in cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence without direct authority.

The salary range included in this job posting is based on internal and market data and the role's responsibilities. The final compensation offered to a candidate will be determined by several factors, including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $135,000 USD per year, with a potential bonus.
