The Technical Project Manager (TPM) for Data & Analytics Engineering supports the delivery and operational excellence of NBCU’s SAP‑based analytics ecosystem, including SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP BPC, SAP BDC and related data platforms. This role is ideal for someone early in their data and analytics project management career who wants to grow into a technical leadership path.
You will help coordinate data‑driven initiatives, support analytics solution delivery, and work closely with engineering teams to ensure high‑quality, scalable, and reliable data products for business stakeholders across the enterprise.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data & Analytics Project Coordination
- Support project planning and execution for data engineering, analytics, and planning initiatives across SAP BW/4HANA, SAC, and BPC.
- Assist in managing project timelines, sprint activities, deliverables, and cross‑team dependencies.
- Help prepare documentation such as data flow diagrams, requirements, user stories, and technical notes.
- Coordinate testing cycles for data models, reports, integrations, and planning applications.
- Help triage data pipeline issues, logging defects, and coordinating fixes with engineering teams.
- Support in communicating and tracking maintenance activities such as system upgrades, data model updates, and performance tuning validations.
Analytics & Data Engineering Collaboration
- Liaise between data and analytics product teams and engineering teams on all aspects of data analytics
- Act as a point of contact for all engineering teams and data analytics engineers to ensure deliverables are clearly communicated and tracked
- Assist in performing fit‑gap analysis for data and analytics solutions, documenting findings and recommendations.
- Support basic testing or data validation tasks under guidance (e.g., SAC model updates, BW queries).
Governance, Quality, and Best Practices
- Track the maintenance of documentation for data models, data lineage, integration points, and operational runbooks by all D&A engineering teams
- Support data governance activities including access management for all design documentation
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance data quality, reliability, and platform performance.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong working relationships with Finance, Product, Engineering Operations, and Data & Analytics teams.
- Provide clear communication on project status, risks, and issue tracking.
- Develop foundational skills to become a trusted partner for business users seeking data‑driven solutions.
- Manage D&A team financial tracking and updates
- 1–3 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering support, IT project coordination, or business analysis.
- Exposure to SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP BPC, or similar enterprise analytics platforms.
- Understanding of project management tools and reporting/visualization tools.
- Strong analytical mindset with interest in data quality, data governance, and scalable data solutions.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
- Interest in developing technical skills in SAP data engineering, analytics modeling, and planning technologies.
- Willingness to support off‑hours activities during critical deployments or maintenance windows.
- SAP or data analytics certifications are a plus but not required.
