We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Salesforce Engineer to own and evolve our Salesforce platform, with a focus on complex quote-to-cash workflows powered by Salesforce Revenue Cloud (CPQ & Billing).

This role sits within our centralized Business Systems team and is critical to scaling our revenue infrastructure. You will play a key role in modernizing our billing architecture, supporting complex pricing models, and enabling self-serve sales and expansion workflows.

Approximately 40% of company revenue flows through our billing engine—this role directly impacts revenue accuracy, scalability, and growth.

What you’ll do here:

Technical Leadership:

• Own the end-to-end technical health of the Salesforce platform, including architecture, performance, and scalability.
• Partner with Salesforce Admins, external consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Engineering) to design and deliver robust solutions.
• Establish and enforce development best practices, code quality standards, and deployment processes.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, particularly as we evolve our quote-to-cash systems.

Revenue Cloud (CPQ & Billing)

• Lead the design and implementation of complex quote-to-cash workflows using Salesforce Revenue Cloud.
• Support sophisticated pricing models, including usage-based pricing, hierarchical account structures (e.g., franchises), and subscription lifecycle management.
• Build and maintain flows for quoting, amendments, renewals, invoicing, and revenue operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across CPQ configurations, pricing logic, and billing processes.

Apex & Application Development:

• Design and develop scalable solutions using Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
• Build and maintain automation across flows, triggers, and platform events.
• Refactor legacy implementations to improve performance, maintainability, and alignment with modern Salesforce patterns.
• Ensure adherence to Salesforce governor limits and platform constraints.

Integration & Data Management:

• Design and maintain integrations between Salesforce and key systems including NetSuite, Marketo, Gainsight, Snowflake, Hightouch, and internal AWS services.
• Implement reliable integration patterns (REST, event-driven architectures), with strong attention to data consistency and failure handling.
• Support data pipelines and synchronization across revenue and customer systems.

Migration & System Evolution

• Play a key role in the migration to Salesforce Revenue Cloud, helping replace and modernize legacy billing systems.
• Identify and reduce technical debt during the transition, improving system clarity and maintainability.
• Partner with internal teams and external consultants to define scalable long-term architecture.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve developer velocity, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Stay current with Salesforce platform advancements, particularly within Revenue Cloud.
• Drive adoption of modern tooling, including Salesforce DX and CI/CD practices.

Documentation & Governance:

• Maintain clear technical documentation for systems, integrations, and architectural decisions.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and data governance standards.
• Support auditability and reliability of revenue-critical systems.

What you’ll need to thrive:

• Experience:
• 7+ years of Salesforce development experience, with deep hands-on expertise in Apex and platform architecture.
• Significant experience with Salesforce CPQ and Billing (Revenue Cloud), including complex pricing and subscription models.
• Experience working on quote-to-cash systems that directly impact revenue operations.
• Proven ability to work in environments undergoing architectural transition or system migration.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Apex, SOQL, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
• Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, data modeling, and governor limits.
• Experience designing and supporting complex CPQ/Billing implementations (e.g., usage-based pricing, renewals, amendments).
• Experience building integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and working with middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft or similar).
• Familiarity with modern Salesforce development practices, including Salesforce DX, Git-based workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working across integrated systems such as ERP (e.g., NetSuite), marketing automation, and data platforms.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to operate in complex, ambiguous environments.
• Effective communicator across technical and non-technical stakeholders, particularly in revenue-facing domains.
• Ability to work independently as a senior IC while collaborating closely with peers and cross-functional teams.

Education/Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I & II.
• Salesforce Certified CPQ Specialist.
• Salesforce Certified Billing Specialist.
• Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) is a plus.

At Boulevard, we work hard to structure compensation in a way that balances internal equity with local market competitiveness, and we’re happy to share a good-faith estimate of the base salary range for this role. For candidates in NYC, the SF Bay Area, and Seattle, the anticipated base salary range is $159,000 - $187,000 per year. For all other U.S. locations, the anticipated base salary range is $120,000 - $155,500 per year. In addition to this base compensation, this role may be eligible to participate in a variable compensation program. Final compensation will vary based on a variety of factors which include but are not limited to applicable experience, location, and final leveling.
