Compound Planning is an AI-enabled digital family office with $5B+ in AUM added since 2022. We serve entrepreneurs, professionals, and retirees with a powerful combination of personalized financial advisory and a proprietary technology platform. Our cross-functional team of advisors, tax experts, product designers, engineers, and operators is building the financial institution of the future.
We're hiring a high-energy, execution-first Senior Product Manager to help build the modern operating system for financial advisors. This is our first dedicated product hire — you'll shape how product gets done at Compound.
This is a build, ship, learn, repeat role. You'll work directly with financial advisors and operations teams, turning real-world feedback into product decisions and shipped improvements — quickly.
We're not building another sleepy wealth-tech dashboard. We're building real tools for real operators, and we move fast.
Own execution across the product lifecycle:
Partner directly with financial advisors and operations staff to deeply understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities
Rapidly translate user needs into product improvements and new features
Write clear specs that engineers can run with — not 40-page PRDs, but enough to ship confidently
Make pragmatic, high-quality decisions with imperfect information
Measure what matters — define success metrics, instrument features, and use data to iterate
Collaborate across the team:
Work closely with engineering to scope, prioritize, and ship — you'll be in the code reviews, not just the standups
Partner with operations to build internal tooling that creates leverage (we believe ops tools = product quality)
Handle light design work initially; partner with external design resources as needed until we build internal design capacity
Communicate tradeoffs clearly to leadership — no jargon, just clear thinking
Shape our AI-first roadmap:
Contribute to defining how AI agents will transform wealth management
Go deep on model evals, agent architecture, and production deployment of AI tools
Help build our Copilot — a natural-language interface for advisors to query client context
Builder Mentality:
High grit, high energy, extreme bias toward action
You move fast and don't hide behind process
Comfortable with ambiguity — you figure it out
Strong Judgment:
Opinionated but not precious — you make good calls and move on
You can hold the whole product in your head and prioritize ruthlessly
Pragmatic over visionary — we need intuition built through reps, not grand strategy decks
User Closeness:
Excited to spend real time with advisors and ops staff
You enjoy being close to the messiness of real customers and workflows
You'll do ride-alongs, shadow sessions, and whatever it takes to build empathy
Data Orientation
You instrument what you ship and use data to iterate
Comfortable defining metrics, building dashboards, and running analyses
You know when to trust data and when to trust your gut
Product Experience:
2-5 years in a PM role (total experience 6-12 years)
More hands-on IC than team lead or org-builder
You've shipped real products to real users, not just roadmaps
Finance Comfort:
Sharp on financial concepts — you know what "alts" are, understand tax-loss harvesting vs. tax planning, and can speak the language
Fintech or wealth management exposure is a strong advantage for ramp speed
Technical Curiosity:
Strong interest in AI tooling and how it changes product development
Comfortable being hands-on in modern tools — Figma, Claude Code, SQL, etc.
You don't need to write production code, but you can read it and talk to engineers in their language
To be clear, this is not the right role if you're excited about:
Managing Jira workflows and sprint ceremonies
Process-first product management
"Product vision" decks and strategy-only conversations
Building a large PM org or managing other PMs
Big Tech-style product bureaucracy
We need a builder. Period.
Momentum — product roadmap is strong; you're stepping into clear priorities and the opportunity to steer direction as you ramp
Direct access — real customers, fast feedback loops, no layers between you and impact
Small team, high ownership — 6 engineers today, growing to 16 over 18 months
AI in production — opportunity to build and deploy AI tooling with rapid feedback loops, not just experiment
Operators who build — our advisors and ops team are partners, not just stakeholders
