The Business Analyst  will work in conjunction with the Analytics team to develop functional technical requirements at Cornerstone.  Working closely with business stakeholders, IT and third parties the candidate will work to develop solid business requirements documents and project deliverables.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Business Analysis & Requirements Management
   1. Partner with business stakeholders to understand, document, and prioritize analytics and reporting needs
   2. Translate business requirements into clear user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria
   3. Maintain structured Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and backlog items in alignment with Agile practices
   4. Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and data-driven decision-making
   5. Leverage AI-assisted tools to analyze requirements, identify patterns, and accelerate documentation (e.g., BRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria)
2. Data Analysis & Reporting
   1. Perform lightweight data analysis and exploratory validation using SQL, Excel, or other tools
   2. Develop quick-turn, non-complex reporting solutions using Power BI, Excel, and SQL, and leverage AI-assisted features to accelerate dashboard creation, enhance visualizations, and enable natural language-based data exploration
   3. Support stakeholders with self-service analytics solutions and rapid insights
   4. Validate data accuracy across UAT and production environments
   5. Utilize AI-enabled analytics capabilities to accelerate data exploration, identify trends, and generate actionable insights
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
   1. Act as a liaison between business users, data engineers, and developers
   2. Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams including IT, Data Warehouse, and Operations
   3. Facilitate requirement discussions, backlog grooming sessions, and alignment meetings
   4. Communicate complex data insights in a clear, concise, and business-friendly manner
4. Agile Delivery & Product Support
   1. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives)
   2. Manage and prioritize backlog items in tools such as Azure DevOps
   3. Ensure deliverables align with business goals, timelines, and quality standards
   4. Support iterative development and continuous improvement of analytics solutions
   5. Use AI tools to improve delivery efficiency, including generation of draft user stories, summaries, and documentation to support Agile processes
5. Testing, Validation & Issue Management
   1. Develop and execute test plans and test scenarios for analytics solutions
   2. Lead or support UAT activities, ensuring business readiness and validation
   3. Manage defects, issues, and enhancements through structured tracking processes
   4. Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across systems
6. Value Delivery & Continuous Improvement
   1. Ensure analytics solutions deliver measurable business value and adoption
   2. Identify and address data gaps, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities
   3. Promote best practices in data governance, quality, and reporting standards
7. AI & Digital Enablement
   1. Leverage AI-powered tools and capabilities to improve requirements gathering, data analysis, reporting development, testing, and stakeholder communication
   2. Continuously identify opportunities to enhance analytics processes and delivery efficiency through AI adoption

Basic requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technology or data-focused environment
• Experience with Power BI, Excel, and SQL for data analysis and reporting
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working within teams

Desirable requirements

• Experience working with data warehousing platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Oracle ADW)
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• 2+ years of experience in project management
• Familiarity with manufacturing or engineer-to-order environments
• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar backlog management tools
• Understanding of data modeling, KPIs, and reporting best practices
