The Impact of a Director, Curriculum Development at Coupa:
As the Director of Curriculum Development, you will architect and transform Coupa’s education ecosystem, converting complex product capabilities into clear, actionable paths to success for our customers, partners, and
employees.By leading a world-class team, you will ensure every stakeholder receives the right learning at the right time. Your leadership will transition our enablement from static assets to a dynamic, AI-powered modular library, turning education into a high-velocity competitive advantage that directly influences product adoption and global partner self-sufficiency.
As the Director of Curriculum Development, you will be the architect of Coupa’s knowledge ecosystem, transforming complex product capabilities into clear, actionable paths to success for our customers, partners, and employees.
What You'll Do:
- Architect Modular Learning Strategy: Lead the shift toward building a library of modular, reusable learning objects that power everything from deep-dive certifications to just-in-time in-app guidance.
- Scale with AI & Automation: Embed AI fluency into the team’s DNA, leveraging generative AI and LLMs to accelerate content drafting, multimedia production, and global localization efforts.
- Execute Agile Content Sprints: Transition the curriculum team to an Agile framework (Scrum/Kanban), synchronizing content releases with Coupa’s rapid product innovation cycles.
- Strategic People Leadership: Direct and mentor a high-performing team of instructional designers and content developers, fostering a culture of technical curiosity, design excellence, and business accountability.
- Govern the Ecosystem: Establish a robust content governance and project management framework (using tools like Jira or Asana) to manage localization, version control, and cross-functional SME collaboration.
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- SaaS Leadership Excellence: 10+ years in Enablement or Instructional Design, with 5+ years leading customer-facing education teams in a high-growth SaaS environment.
- Modern Methodology Mastery: Expert-level understanding of modular content architecture, microlearning, and the application of Agile/Scrum methodologies to creative and non-engineering teams.
- AI & Technical Fluency: Proven experience integrating AI tools into content workflows and a deep mastery of modern learning tech stacks, including LMS/LXP platforms and Digital Adoption Platforms (DAPs) like WalkMe or Pendo.
- Project Management & Change Leadership: Exceptional PM rigor with the ability to lead a team through the cultural shift from long-form course development to rapid, iterative, and data-informed content releases.
- Influential Collaboration: A proven ability to partner with Sales Enablement, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to translate complex technical roadmaps into high-impact, global learning journeys.
