The role:
We’re looking for a Manager, Payments to own and scale Curri’s payments operations during a period of rapid growth. This role is responsible for establishing and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payouts while reducing friction for drivers, carriers, and internal teams. Payments is Curri’s largest support surface area and a critical driver of trust, retention, and working capital efficiency.
What you will do:
- Improve driver payment terms across carriers and gig drivers.
- Own carrier billing operations, including invoice generation, dispute investigation, resolution, and documentation.
- Support gig driver payouts through account cleanup, issue resolution, and escalation management.
- Conduct proactive Stripe profile audits to resolve gaps and prevent recurring payment failures.
- Own 1099 compliance, outreach, and profile completeness management.
- Develop carrier financial coaching initiatives to support sustainable growth and capacity expansion.
- Design scalable, repeatable payment workflows leveraging automation, AI, and BPO partnerships.
What you need to have:
- High autonomy with strong operational ownership and accountability.
- Comfort working with complex financial data, ambiguity, and evolving requirements.
- Strong judgment in dispute resolution and exception handling.
- Ability to design scalable processes, not just execute tasks.
- Clear communication skills across finance, support, supply, and technology teams.
Bonus points:
- Prior experience owning payments, payouts, or billing operations at scale.
- Demonstrated success reducing operational complexity or support volume.
- Deep familiarity with Stripe, payout flows, and compliance workflows.
- Track record of thriving in high-responsibility IC or player-coach roles within startups.
