About Us:
Datacor is the leading provider of software solutions, including ERP, CRM, Asset Tracking, Simulation and Formulation, to the process manufacturing space. We are on a mission to better equip the industry with software solutions and move it forward by building thoughtful, intuitive products that solve our customers’ most difficult problems.
We are passionate about serving our customers and helping them use data as a competitive advantage. Our customers make products that extend and sustain lives by sanitizing, fertilizing, beautifying, cleaning, and recycling the world we live in. We at Datacor help our customers make those products you use every day more safely, cost effectively and more efficiently through our technology platforms and applications.
The Role:
We are seeking a Lead Salesforce Architect to own both the architecture of our Salesforce platform and the team that builds on it. Salesforce is the system of record for how Datacor sells, services, and renews across a growing portfolio of business units. You will set the architectural direction, define the standards, and make the design decisions that ensure the platform scales with the business and doesn’t constrain.
This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to the VP of IT & CISO. You will lead a team of internal administrators and external partners, growing the internal team as the platform does. This role will partner with leaders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, and Operations to translate business strategy into a platform roadmap and holding the teams accountable for delivering it. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable defending an architectural decision to an executive audience and reviewing a colleague’s solution design before it ships.
Our platform includes Salesforce CPQ running subscription pricing for enterprise SaaS, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud portals for customers and partners, Agentforce, and a significant body of custom development.
Strategic and Architectural Leadership:
- Own the architecture and delivery of the migration to Revenue Cloud, including target-state revenue process design, product and pricing model, data migration, and a phasing plan that does not disrupt the business mid-quarter.
- Own the multi-year Salesforce platform roadmap, aligning platform investment to business outcomes and sequencing work against company strategy.
- Make and defend build-versus-buy and build-versus-configure recommendations, including the evaluation and selection of AppExchange solutions and implementation partners.
- Own the integrations and data architecture connecting upstream/downstream systems, including integration patterns, middleware strategy, master data management, and data governance.
- Lead the architectural onboarding of acquisitions and new business units onto the platform, assessing the acquired environment, defining the target state, and planning the migration, consolidation, and data conversion.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, design patterns, and a governance model that keeps decisions consistent as the number of stakeholders grows.
- Serve as the design authority for significant changes, reviewing solution designs before build and maintaining an explicit, prioritized technical debt backlog.
- Own the release and DevOps strategy, including source control, environment and sandbox management, and the deployment pipelines.
- Translate the Salesforce roadmap – new releases, retiring features, and licensing model changes into a plan for the business, and advise leadership on the cost, risk, and opportunity in each.
- Partner closely with Information Security on platform security architecture, access model design, and audit and compliance requirements.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, develop, and retain a team of administrators, and make the case for the additional capacity the platform needs as the business grows.
- Manage the team directly, including regular one-on-ones, goal setting, performance reviews, and individual career development plans.
- Accountable for reliable operation of the platform: production incidents, integration failure triage, scheduled job and Flow error monitoring, and the lifecycle of certificates, credentials, and Connected Apps.
- Set the team’s ways of working: intake, prioritization, estimation, documentation, peer review, and definition of done.
- Own capacity planning and prioritization, negotiating scope and sequencing with stakeholders across departments and making the trade-offs explicit.
- Mentor the team on Salesforce architecture and craft, raising the technical bar through design review and pairing rather than by absorbing the work yourself.
- Manage relationships with implementation partners, contractors, and Salesforce account and support teams, holding external delivery to the same standards as internal work.
- Represent the Salesforce team to executive stakeholders, communicating roadmap, progress, risk, and resourcing needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience on the Salesforce platform, including time in an architecture or lead solution design capacity.
- Minimum of 2 years of leading a team, managing direct reports, or similar.
- Experience integrating acquired companies or new business units onto an existing Salesforce instance.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ internals (amendment and renewal logic, subscription pricing, the quote-to-order data model) and with Revenue Cloud (RLM / Revenue Cloud Advanced).
- Proven experience architecting and administering complex Salesforce environments with multiple integrations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from end user to executive.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect credentials, or demonstrable progress toward them.
- Experience leading a migration or replatform of an existing quoting, pricing, or revenue system.
