Bid Manager

Designedconveyorsystems·29 days ago

📝 Contract🎯 Lead / Principal🇺🇸 Franklin, USA📅 Aug 3, 2026

About the Role:

As a Bid Manager, you will help drive the success of DCS's project bids and proposals, applying real project management discipline to keep each pursuit moving from early concept through final submission. You will sit within our Pre Contract team, working alongside the engineers, estimators, and account leaders who build every bid, and you will be the person who keeps a dozen moving pieces on schedule at once. This is a strong fit if you like bringing order to complex, deadline driven work, and if you want a seat close to the leaders who make the call on which pursuits DCS goes after next.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You will own the schedule for every active proposal, keeping engineering, estimating, and sales aligned against submission deadlines for industrial automation and supply chain project bids.
  • You will run the recurring reviews where the team surfaces progress, open risks, and any change in strategy, and you will decide what needs to move as a result.
  • You will guide each proposal through DCS's stage gate process, from initial qualification through internal review and final approval.
  • You will keep several pursuits moving at the same time, reordering your own priorities as one bid heats up and another goes quiet.
  • You will track each proposal against the win strategy set for it, and flag early when the work on the ground has drifted from that plan.
  • You will step in when solution development stalls, pulling in the right people to work through a technical, commercial, or scheduling issue before it costs the team time.
  • You will give leadership a clear, honest read on where each pursuit stands, not just a status update but a real sense of risk and confidence.
  • You will partner with engineering, estimating, and sales to make sure what goes out the door is accurate, compliant, and built to win.

We're Excited About You Because

  • You can hold several pursuits at once without losing track of any of them, and you know how to identify, manage, and escalate a risk before it becomes a problem.
  • You are comfortable initiating and guiding a cross functional team in response to a customer update or a requirement that just changed.
  • You communicate as clearly with a project team in the weeds as you do with the senior leaders reviewing a pursuit, and you are proficient enough in Microsoft Office and structured process work that the tools never slow you down.
  • You bring a calm, steady presence under deadline pressure, the kind of leadership style that sets clear expectations and holds a team accountable without needing to raise your voice.
  • You are proactive about the process itself, quick to flag a gap or suggest a better way to run it, and you want to work somewhere that instinct actually gets used.
