Paralegal’s perform substantive billable legal work under the direction of the Partners or other attorneys in the office. A Paralegal’s goal is to relieve the attorney(s) she works for of a portion of the tasks involved in the practice of law, so the attorneys can focus on more substantive and valuable tasks. A Paralegal provides billable services to clients at a lower rate than an attorney, providing a benefit to the Firm's clients.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain pleadings, discovery indexes and case files • Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics etc.) • Filling out legal forms • Drafting letters and simple court documents • Drafting divorces by customizing standard forms • Preparing contracts by customizing standard forms • Writing reports and legal documents • Research laws and judicial decisions, about current as well as past cases • Helping attorneys prepare cases for trial • Drafting corporate bylaws/operating agreements. • Reviewing pending legislation • Drafting motions and other court documents • Preparing discovery and responses to discovery demands • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices • Gather relevant information from a variety of sources • State/Federal filing in the State of Florida, New York, Texas, Maryland, Washington, D.C. • Liaise between attorneys and various external third-party vendors. • Finalize format and exhibits to pleadings, motions, etc. before filing.
Skills:
•Federal court rules knowledge a huge plus
• Complex litigation experience

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus, though not mandatory.
