We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Family Law Paralegal with at least 3 years of experience, ideally with strong knowledge of California family law.
Key Responsibilities:
• Client Interaction & Communication:
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding case updates, document needs, deadlines, and next steps.
• Maintain confidentiality, empathy, and professionalism in sensitive family law matters.
• Gather information for declarations, discovery responses, and case development.
• Legal Documentation:
• Draft, edit, and format legal documents including motions, pleadings, declarations, discovery requests and responses.
• Prepare specialized filings such as an "Emotion for Reconsideration" (writing sample may be requested).
• Follow attorneys' formatting style, tone, and guidelines.
• Prepare accurate, organized documents for California courts.
• Discovery Management:
• Propound and respond to discovery requests: form interrogatories, special interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions.
• Identify, collect, and organize documents using client checklists and notes.
• Track deadlines to ensure accurate and timely discovery submissions.
• Understand document requirements for divorce, custody, child support, and family law matters.
• Case Support & File Management:
• Assist attorneys in hearing, mediation, and settlement preparation.
• Maintain organized digital case files.
• Track deadlines, court dates, and follow-ups using legal task systems.
• Ensure quality control of outgoing legal documents.
• Technology & Tools:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to learn AI-based legal tools and practice management platforms.
• Adaptable to evolving workflows and tools.
Skills Required:
• Hard Skills:
• Minimum 3 years as a Family Law Paralegal.
• Strong knowledge of California family law procedures preferred.
• Advanced legal writing and formatting skills (writing samples required).
• Experience drafting motions, pleadings, declarations, discovery, and court-ready documents.
• Proficient in discovery procedures.
• Strong technical skills with MS Office and legal document tools.
• Ability to follow checklists, attorney instructions, and SOPs accurately.

Schedule
• This is a 100% remote replacement position.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST.
• Minimum 1 year experience in California Law.
• 2 to 3 years of Family Law Paralegal experience required.
