POSITION CLASSIFICATION
FOFAF recognizes a staff bargaining unit, affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 494, a labor union. This position is NOT included in the FOFAF bargaining unit.
ABOUT THE ROLE
A great Digital Content Specialist lives and breathes in the digital space. You’ve got an eye for detail, know digital tools and tactics like the back of your hand, and are ready to support a team by crafting stellar digital content. You are a strong writer, and you bring a fresh eye to content creation. You keep up with current online trends and find joy in using social media to engage voters and potential volunteers alike.
If selected, this position is anticipated to run through at least November 3, 2026.
Assist in the day-to-day management of program websites, development of visual and written content, and ensuring high-quality content is consistently shared across digital platforms
Oversee and monitor posting and overall health of the email and social media platforms
Collaborate with State Digital Program Managers on state-specific content asks and rapid response needs
Track and maintain press clips across states
Create graphic and video content to enhance volunteer and voter engagement online
Maintain a content calendar to ensure timely updates and alignment with organization priorities.
Monitor the social media landscape to identify key messengers and influential voices across platforms
Track emerging digital trends to inform content strategy and ensure authentic, engaging communication with our participants
Collaborate cross-departmentally to integrate digital and organizing efforts, including projects that connect online engagement with offline work
Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
At least 2 campaign cycles or years of relevant experience in digital content creation — including strong graphic design and video editing experience, and/or 2 years of relevant training/education
Experience using Graphic design software (Canva experience preferred)
Strong strategic thinking skills to align digital efforts with overall campaign goals
Demonstrated interest in digital organizing initiatives, including peer-to-peer
texting, distributed events, relational organizing
Proven interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment in which goals and priorities evolve rapidly
Commitment to fostering an inclusive atmosphere and promoting diversity, equity,
and inclusion.
Ability to craft compelling narratives and develop creative content that resonates with
diverse audiences.
Not required, but would love to know if you have any of the below:
Familiarity with website hosting platforms (Squarespace preferred)
Backend link tracking
This position is based in HQ as a remote role but may require occasional travel to various FOFAF offices in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, including in-person interactions with employees and community partners.
Prolonged periods of remaining in a stationary position at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to transport up to 15 pounds at times

Normal business hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday; however, employees may be required to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
Employees are required to abide by certain blackout dates during a campaign cycle or other key deadlines, and generally not allowed to take off during blackout periods. Emergencies are not affected by this policy.
