Funga is a public benefit corporation harnessing forest fungal networks to address the climate crisis. We combine modern DNA sequencing and machine learning technology with breakthrough research on the forest microbiome to put the right native, biodiverse communities of mycorrhizal fungi in the right place. This leads to more quality wood created more quickly, more carbon sequestered, and more resilient forests. We serve land partners seeking to implement regenerative forestry practices that improve productivity and sustainability, and corporate carbon buyers building high-quality carbon removal portfolios with strong social and biodiversity outcomes. We’re a team of passionate scientists and builders on a mission to draw down at least three gigatons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by 2050.
If you are excited by starting new things, learning as you go, and being hands-on in applying your work to the private sector, you will dig working with us. We encourage you to apply even if only some of the below criteria are met—just make sure to tell us why you’re excited about Funga!
We are hiring a Landowner Enrollment Specialist to build strong relationships with key landowner partners and manage forestry-related engagement efforts within the Southern pine footprint of the southeastern (SE) U.S. Landowners are essential partners in our mission, and this role will be responsible for driving enrollment by effectively communicating the benefits of our Carbon, Field Trial, and Soil Sampling programs to prospective landowners, supporting them throughout the decision-making process, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience. You will also play an important role in connecting with them to facilitate project planning, maintain ongoing communication, and identify opportunities for collaboration. We’re seeking a professional with a strong forestry background who can authentically engage, support, and convey our mission to landowners.
As a small, dynamic team, we all go beyond our core responsibilities. We’re looking for a team player who’s excited to think creatively, solve problems, and help us develop innovative approaches to forest management. This role will require travel throughout the SE U.S. and will play a key role in supporting our on-the-ground forestry team.
The expected salary range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000, with actual salary based on qualifications and experience.
