We are seeking detail-oriented, proactive Researchers to support the development of a robust multimedia content library by sourcing, logging, tagging, and organizing high-quality digital assets. In this role, you will monitor breaking news, general online trends, and viral cultural moments across a wide range of topics—including U.S. politics, podcasts, lifestyle, sports, wellness, fashion, and technology—to identify timely content opportunities and build strong evergreen and archival libraries. Researchers will work 10-15 hours per week on a contract basis.
Responsibilities
Time Commitment and Output
Work 10–15 hours per week;
Attend one 30-minute research team meeting each week;
Upload several folders of video assets per week to Vocal’s Digital Asset Manager, aligned with campaign editorial needs and given news cycles;
Keep in close communication with manager and other researchers via slack channel daily;
Finish research sprint tasks in a timely fashion by the end of each sprint
Research & Catalogue
Source, log, and tag relevant content to help build and expand our multimedia library;
Track breaking political news and major market trends for rapid-response coverage;
Monitor viral and trending content across topics like lifestyle, sports, wellness, fashion, and technology;
Build libraries of archival and evergreen political and cultural video content
Documentation and Analysis
Review briefs and memos and recommend relevant content for Vocal’s social media teams;
Respond quickly to asset and content requests from social media managers;
Organize assets into folders and maintain a clear, searchable content database.
Collaboration
Work closely with Program Managers and leads to support content creation efforts;
Participate in strategy discussions and contribute research insights.
Qualifications
- Prior internship, volunteer, or project experience in operations, admin, tech, or digital media
- Strong research skills and the ability to quickly find relevant, high-quality digital content
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail (especially when tagging, labeling, and managing assets)
- Experience working with digital asset management systems, databases, or content libraries (preferred)
- Familiarity and interest with political news, current events, and cultural trends
- Availability to work 10-12 hours per week
Compensation & Benefits
- $1500 a month, up to 15 hours per week
- Completely virtual work environment
- Work in any timezone within the continental US — EST hours not required
