Compensation: $18-22/hour at approx. 5-10 hours/week

GO Tutor Corps is an AmeriCorps-funded organization providing high-impact tutoring and teacher residency programs to high-need schools across seven states. We partner with districts serving economically disadvantaged students to close achievement gaps and strengthen educational opportunities where they're needed most.
Position Overview
The Partnerships Research Assistant plays a critical role in GO Tutor Corps' ambitious expansion campaign for the 2026-27 academic year. This position supports systematic outreach to 50+ priority districts across our seven-state footprint by building comprehensive contact databases and conducting prospect research.
This is an ideal role for detail-oriented individuals with strong research skills who want to contribute to educational equity while gaining experience in nonprofit partnership development and strategic outreach.
Primary Responsibilities
Prospect Research & Database Development (60% of time)
- Research and compile contact information for district decision-makers including:
- Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents
- Directors of Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives
- Chief Academic Officers
- Title I Coordinators
- Community School Coordinators
- Principals at target schools
- Gather professional background information on key stakeholders (LinkedIn profiles, career history, public statements on education priorities)
- Build and maintain organized contact databases with verified email addresses, phone numbers, and relevant notes
- Identify "grasstops" influencers (school board members, education foundation leaders, community partners)
- Map grassroots connections (parent organizations, teacher leaders, nonprofit partners)
Email Campaign Support (30% of time)
- Send pre-drafted outreach emails to target decision-makers
- Execute email sequences and follow-up campaigns using provided templates
- Track email responses and engagement metrics
- Schedule follow-up reminders and maintain outreach calendars
Intelligence Gathering (10% of time)
- Monitor district websites and social media for partnership opportunities, budget announcements, and leadership changes
- Flag time-sensitive opportunities for Director of Partnerships
- Document district characteristics relevant to partnership fit (enrollment, demographics, existing programs, strategic priorities)
Ideal Candidate Profile
Required:
- Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong internet research skills and ability to navigate education databases, district websites, and professional networks
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Gmail) or Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written communication skills for email drafting
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfort with repetitive tasks and systematic workflows
Strongly Preferred:
- Experience with CRM systems, database management, or contact research
- Familiarity with education sector organizational structures
- Background in education, nonprofit work, or AmeriCorps service
- Current or former GO Tutor Corps Fellow
Bonus Skills:
- Data cleaning and spreadsheet management
Geographic Scope
Research will focus on priority districts across our seven-state footprint:
- Connecticut
- New York
- New Jersey
- Massachusetts
- Washington DC/Virginia
- Pennsylvania (Philadelphia region)
- Louisiana
No geographic restrictions on where Research Assistant is located—this is fully remote work.
Time Commitment & Compensation
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
Duration: January 2026 – March/April 2026 (partner procurement season)
Compensation: $18-22/hour depending on experience
Work Style: Asynchronous and self-directed with weekly check-ins

Typical Weekly Workflow
Week 1 Example:
- Research 8-10 priority districts
- Compile contact information for 40-50 decision-makers
- Update master contact database
- Submit weekly progress report
Success Metrics
- Quantity: Number of verified contacts added to database per week
- Quality: Accuracy of contact information and completeness of stakeholder profiles
- Outreach: Number of emails sent and response rates achieved
- Efficiency: Time to complete research for priority district list
