Lead a talented agile team supporting the Faculty of Arts and Sciences’ (FAS) HR systems — including Aurora, a custom-built front-end application that extends Harvard’s enterprise HR system, PeopleSoft.
Guide a team of developers, analysts, and QA specialists who create and maintain applications that make Harvard’s Human Resources (HR) work smoother, smarter, and more connected. Serve as Product Owner, helping shape solutions that meet the complex and evolving needs of FAS and the broader University.
- Lead the Aurora HR agile team, overseeing several custom applications that support FAS-specific HR and payroll processes.
- Serve as Product Owner for the Aurora portfolio, collaborating closely with FAS and University partners to prioritize features, refine workflows, and guide development through agile sprints.
- Partner with the Associate Director, HR Systems on university-wide initiatives that impact the FAS, bringing in local subject matter expertise.
- Manage system integrations between PeopleSoft and Harvard’s custom HR applications, ensuring data accuracy and smooth operations across schools.
- Partner with HR, payroll, finance, faculty affairs, and labor relations teams to translate complex business needs into sustainable technical solutions.
- Make infrastructure and integration decisions in partnership with the HUIT DevOps team.
- May take on project leadership roles for initiatives of various sizes, depending on expertise, team composition, and available capacity.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
- 7+ years of experience in business systems analysis/product management with progressive responsibility of managing complex IT environments.
- Experience with running and managing large IT projects, with a cross functional agile team.
- Demonstrated ability to build and foster a broad range of business relationships with administrators, human resources, faculty affairs, and finance professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and mentor teams.
- Must be passionate about delivering great service and driving on products and projects in the public interest.
- Strong organizational skills, communication skills (written, oral, and presentation) with a concern for accuracy, details and quality to cross-functional and non-technical business owners.
- Strong knowledge about the business processes and related technologies that support HR, finance, and faculty affairs teams.
- Ability to think strategically while working through tactical short-term priorities.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Completion of Harvard IT Academy specified foundational courses (or external equivalent) preferred.

- Work Will be performed in an office setting.
Appointment End Date:
- This is a fully benefited, full-time Harvard University position that has been funded for two years from date of hire. There is the possibility of renewal, contingent upon your work performance meeting the needs of the department and the continued availability of funding designed to support the position.
Standard Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00
- The onsite requirement will be based on business needs and client meetings with advance notice.

Work Format Details
This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location.
