Job-Specific Responsibilities:
The Manager of Non-Sponsored Funds leads financial operations and planning for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) non-sponsored funds portfolio. As a critical role within FAS Finance function, the Manager of Non-Sponsored Funds will help ensure that the FAS’s non-sponsored funding sources – including endowments, current use gifts, construction gifts, loan funds, and unrestricted designated funds – are properly managed, utilized, and aligned with FAS priorities.
This role serves as a primary point of contact for non-sponsored funds and will work collaboratively with both FAS departments and centers and University organization such as the Office of Gift Administration and the Office of the Controller. With a strong foundation in fund accounting and University policies and procedures, this role will also ensure that all funds are managed properly to donors’ terms and that all regulatory requirements are met.
This role will supervise the Non-Sponsored Funds team and manage the lifecycle of a fund (including new fund creation, acknowledgement of terms, release from restriction audits, donor relations and stewardship requests, and write-off and disabling of fund, where applicable).
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office setting; this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days on campus
Physical Requirements: Sitting and using near vision for reading and computer work for extended periods of time

This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
