This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Account Executive - Industrial & Manufacturing based in United States.
This is a remote, territory-focused sales role responsible for driving growth across new and existing enterprise customers and partners.
You will sell complex environmental monitoring, weather, hydrology, risk management, and resiliency solutions to organizations facing critical environmental challenges.
The role combines strategic account development, consultative selling, pipeline generation, and relationship management.
You will work closely with sales, marketing, channel, product, and technical teams to build and execute territory strategies.
Success will depend on your ability to uncover customer needs, develop compelling solutions, negotiate complex deals, and consistently deliver against revenue goals.
You will operate in a fast-moving, matrixed environment where commercial judgment, persistence, and technical curiosity are highly valued.
The position offers significant autonomy, with approximately 25%–50% travel required to engage customers, partners, and industry events.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and execute quarterly and annual territory plans in collaboration with sales, marketing, channel, sales engineering, product, and other go-to-market stakeholders.
- Identify, prospect, and qualify new customers and partners across target industries, assessing business needs, solution fit, budgets, decision processes, purchasing criteria, and timelines.
- Build trusted relationships with customer and partner stakeholders, uncovering pain points and positioning relevant solutions to address their operational and strategic needs.
- Drive the full sales cycle for complex technology and solution offerings, from prospecting and opportunity development through proposal, negotiation, contracting, and closing.
- Promote a broad portfolio of environmental monitoring, weather, hydrological, risk management, early-warning, resiliency, implementation, and managed-service solutions.
- Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, accurately forecast bookings, and ensure timely CRM updates and activity tracking in Salesforce.
- Coordinate proposal and bid activities, working with sales engineering and internal teams to meet requirements, deadlines, approvals, and submission standards.
- Structure and negotiate commercial agreements, securing appropriate internal approvals for non-standard contractual or payment terms.
- Manage customer and partner accounts throughout the territory, supporting account health, timely revenue generation, collections, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, funding trends, emerging technologies, competitive activity, and customer requirements to strengthen market positioning.
- Educate customers and partners on solution value and identify opportunities to expand relationships and generate additional business.
- Represent the organization at relevant conferences, industry events, and customer engagements as needed.
- Track performance against annual and quarterly sales bookings, pipeline coverage, and forecast accuracy targets.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional sales experience with a demonstrated history of achieving and exceeding growth objectives.
- Proven experience selling complex technology, products, or solutions, ideally involving weather, hydrology, climate resilience, disaster management, or environmental decision-support applications.
- Demonstrated success selling weather, hydrology, or climate-resiliency products and services to U.S. state and local government agencies.
- Strong understanding of account and territory planning, pipeline development, opportunity progression, forecasting, and sales execution.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, meteorology, hydrology, environmental science, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience and training.
- Strong business judgment, with the ability to evaluate alternatives, develop recommendations, and make commercially sound decisions.
- Experience managing multiple complex sales pursuits simultaneously while meeting demanding deadlines and working within resource constraints.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization.
- Self-motivated, persistent, commercially driven, and capable of independently developing new business opportunities.
- Technical expertise or experience selling technically complex solutions is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with weather, water, environmental, or disaster-management decision-support solutions is highly desirable.
- Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25%–50% of the time.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship.
