Accountabilities:

The Account Executive will own regional growth initiatives by developing strategic opportunities, managing the complete sales cycle, and building long-term customer partnerships. The role requires a proactive approach to pipeline generation, solution positioning, and revenue execution.

• Identify, develop, and close new software opportunities with transportation agencies, municipalities, counties, and regional organizations.
• Build and execute territory strategies to expand market presence and create sustainable revenue growth.
• Generate pipeline through industry relationships, targeted outreach, and strategic market engagement.
• Lead consultative sales conversations by connecting technology solutions with customer goals around safety, mobility, reliability, sustainability, and ROI.
• Develop compelling business cases that demonstrate measurable value, operational improvements, and long-term impact.
• Partner with Sales Development Representatives, Customer Success Managers, Product, Marketing, and Professional Services teams to maximize customer success.
• Manage the full sales lifecycle, including prospecting, qualification, solution development, negotiation, and closing activities.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, territory plans, and pipeline visibility using structured sales processes.
• Build trusted relationships with transportation leaders, traffic engineers, consultants, and industry stakeholders.
• Represent the organization at relevant industry events and forums to strengthen market credibility and thought leadership.
• Analyze market trends, customer needs, funding opportunities, and competitive positioning to guide sales strategies.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong enterprise software sales experience, a strategic mindset, and the ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments. You should be comfortable creating demand, managing high-value opportunities, and translating technical solutions into business outcomes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Transportation, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
• 7–12+ years of experience in software sales, solution selling, or enterprise technology sales, ideally within transportation, ITS, smart city, or related markets.
• Proven track record of developing, managing, and closing complex enterprise-level sales opportunities.
• Strong understanding of transportation technology, traffic engineering concepts, Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), signal systems, or mobility platforms.
• Established network within the ITS and transportation ecosystem is highly preferred.
• Experience collaborating with or leading sales support functions such as SDRs and Customer Success teams.
• Strong knowledge of CRM platforms, forecasting tools, pipeline management, and structured sales methodologies.
• Advanced consultative selling, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to connect technology solutions with measurable customer outcomes and business value.
• Strategic, self-motivated, and results-oriented approach with strong ownership of revenue goals.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and manage complex customer environments.
• Willingness to travel more than 50% of the time or as required for customer meetings and company activities.
