This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Administrative Compensation Specialist based in the United States.
This role supports critical compensation operations within a large, complex organization, helping ensure employee compensation data and processes remain accurate, timely, and well controlled. You will work extensively with Workday and related HR systems to maintain data, generate reporting, and support compensation planning activities. The position offers exposure to annual and off-cycle compensation cycles, executive compensation operations, audits, and process improvements. You will collaborate with HR and compensation professionals while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. During peak periods, you will take ownership of defined workstreams and help identify and resolve operational risks. This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to strengthen their compensation expertise while contributing to efficient, reliable people processes.
Accountabilities:
- Support compensation-related processes in Workday and other HR systems by accurately entering, updating, maintaining, and validating employee and compensation data.
- Generate standard and ad hoc reports to support compensation planning, analysis, operational reviews, and leadership decision-making.
- Conduct routine data-quality reviews and audits, identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and coordinate timely resolutions with relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with testing, validation, documentation, and implementation of system updates, configuration changes, and process enhancements.
- Support annual and off-cycle compensation programs by preparing templates, trackers, checklists, reports, and other materials required for successful execution.
- Monitor compensation-cycle milestones and deliverables, organize data and documentation, and prepare materials for leadership review and approval.
- Provide administrative support through meeting coordination, agenda and material preparation, follow-up documentation, and maintenance of team processes and standard operating procedures.
- Organize shared drives, SharePoint sites, and team repositories while supporting document governance and version control.
- Take increased ownership of assigned tasks and workstreams during peak compensation periods, proactively escalating risks, dependencies, issues, and timing concerns.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline recurring activities, improve accuracy, reduce manual effort, and strengthen process documentation.
- Support small projects, pilots, and initiatives involving reporting, process improvements, system enhancements, and other compensation-related tools.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and compensation information while delivering a high level of customer service to internal stakeholders.
- 1–3 years of experience working in compensation planning or a closely related compensation operations environment.
- Strong systems knowledge, with Workday experience strongly preferred, and the ability to learn new HR technologies quickly.
- Comprehensive proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Microsoft Project is also valuable.
- Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with sensitive data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at different organizational levels.
- Ability to independently plan and execute work while contributing effectively within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines simultaneously, including during periods of competing or shifting priorities.
- Proactive, results-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills and the judgment to identify and escalate issues appropriately.
- Ability to organize people, activities, documentation, and workflows efficiently while maintaining clear processes and follow-through.
- Customer-focused mindset and ability to build cooperation across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- High learning agility and initiative, with a willingness to take ownership of projects and continuously improve processes.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when working with employee compensation information.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is desirable.
- Base salary: $80,700–$109,400 per year, with actual compensation determined by relevant factors including position requirements and candidate location.
