This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an AI-Native Software Engineering Director in Brazil.
This is a transformative engineering leadership role focused on redefining how software is built in the AI era. You will shape the next generation of engineering practices by designing AI-native development and quality systems that accelerate delivery, improve reliability, and elevate developer experience. Rather than managing roadmap execution or large reporting lines, you will act as an architect of engineering evolution across teams. You will lead experimentation with AI-driven workflows, tools, and agentic systems to unlock new levels of productivity and innovation. Working in a fully remote, global environment, you will partner closely with engineering, QA, DevOps, and product leaders. Your impact will be measured by tangible improvements in engineering outcomes powered by AI-enabled ways of working.
Accountabilities:
- Design, run, and evaluate experiments to improve software development and quality engineering through AI-native workflows.
- Identify bottlenecks in engineering processes and introduce AI-enabled solutions to improve speed, productivity, quality, and developer experience.
- Evaluate and select AI engineering tools, coding agents, automated testing solutions, and developer productivity platforms.
- Define and institutionalize AI-native engineering standards, including development, testing, review, documentation, and delivery practices.
- Establish metrics frameworks to measure engineering performance, cycle time, quality, adoption, and business impact.
- Create playbooks, operating models, and enablement materials to scale successful practices across engineering teams.
- Coach engineers and leaders on AI-assisted development, human–AI collaboration, and modern engineering practices.
- Drive responsible and secure usage of AI in software development, including code quality, security, and compliance guardrails.
- Partner with cross-functional leadership to align AI-native transformation with business and technical strategy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience delivering production systems.
- Strong background in modern software engineering, including distributed systems, cloud, CI/CD, DevOps, and automation.
- Proven experience using or evaluating AI-assisted development tools, coding agents, or AI-powered engineering workflows.
- Experience leading engineering transformation, developer productivity, quality engineering, or technical excellence initiatives.
- Ability to design and run data-driven experiments and define meaningful engineering metrics.
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to optimize complex technical and organizational workflows.
- Experience coaching engineers and influencing change across multiple teams or organizations.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to distinguish durable engineering improvements from short-lived technological hype.
- Experience with responsible AI usage, security considerations, and engineering governance is a plus.
