This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Applications Architect based in United States.
This is a senior architecture role focused on shaping the application layer of a complex, data-driven case management and adjudication environment.
You will own the end-to-end application architecture built around the ServiceNow platform and its integration with signal, scoring, and analytics capabilities.
The role connects enterprise data architecture with practical application implementation, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and operationally effective.
You will define integration and API patterns while guiding development teams toward consistent architectural standards and platform best practices.
A key focus will be designing intuitive adjudicator workflows that support auditability, explainability, traceability, and human-in-the-loop decision-making.
You will collaborate closely with architects, developers, UX professionals, and business stakeholders to resolve complex design challenges and align technical decisions.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced architect who combines strong systems thinking, ServiceNow expertise, integration knowledge, and pragmatic product judgment.
Accountabilities
- Own and continuously evolve the end-to-end application architecture for case management and adjudication experiences built on and around the ServiceNow platform.
- Design how ServiceNow integrates with signal ingestion, scoring, analytics, event, entity-resolution, risk-scoring, and decision-support layers.
- Translate enterprise data architecture, including schemas, canonical models, and data contracts, into application patterns that development teams can implement effectively.
- Define API and integration standards covering service boundaries, interface contracts, error handling, idempotency, versioning, reliability, and performance.
- Architect integration solutions using API gateway approaches and enterprise integration patterns, including ESB-style orchestration where appropriate.
- Guide implementation teams on ServiceNow architecture best practices, including scalability, maintainability, upgrade-safe customization, extensibility, and platform governance.
- Ensure application designs effectively support adjudicator workflows, task management, case queues, auditability, score traceability, explainability, and human-in-the-loop decisions.
- Partner with UX teams and stakeholders to improve workflow experiences for operational users, emphasizing clarity, efficiency, usability, and reduced cognitive load.
- Participate in architecture reviews and provide design documentation, reference implementations, technical guidance, and governance throughout delivery.
- Bridge the work of data architects and ServiceNow development teams to maintain architectural consistency, minimize design gaps, and reduce rework.
- Drive end-to-end architectural ownership across multiple components and teams while balancing delivery speed, maintainability, platform constraints, security, and user experience.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret security clearance is required and must be maintained.
- Bachelor's degree with 10–12 years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 8–10 years, or PhD with 5–7 years; alternatively, six additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- At least 7 years of experience in application architecture, including the design of complex and integrated enterprise applications.
- Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow platform architecture beyond development or configuration, including extensibility, integrations, governance, and platform best practices.
- Strong expertise in API and integration architecture, including RESTful patterns, event-driven architectures, data contracts, integration reliability, and service design.
- Experience connecting data architecture with application implementation and translating data models into practical application interfaces and workflows.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow IntegrationHub or comparable integration tooling, API gateway architectures, and enterprise service bus patterns.
- Strong understanding of application architecture tooling, integration patterns, platform governance, and enterprise application design.
- Practical UX judgment for operational and case-management applications, with an emphasis on usability, auditability, throughput, and decision support.
- Strong systems-thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to assess relationships between user workflows, data contracts, integrations, and technical architecture.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain architectural decisions, tradeoffs, and technical concepts to architects, developers, and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, make pragmatic architectural decisions, and lead cross-functional teams toward coherent technical solutions.
Benefits
- Opportunity to lead application architecture for a complex, mission-focused technology environment.
- High-impact work spanning ServiceNow, enterprise integration, data architecture, analytics, and decision-support capabilities.
- Exposure to advanced AI-powered and data-driven solutions supporting complex operational environments.
- Collaborative environment working with architects, developers, UX professionals, and technical stakeholders.
- Opportunity to influence enterprise architecture standards, governance, and long-term technology direction.
- Equal opportunity workplace committed to supporting protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
