As an Associate Director of Biostatistics, you will play a pivotal role in advancing innovative oncology research by leading statistical strategy and execution across clinical validation programs. Accountabilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of biostatisticians, providing both technical guidance and professional growth opportunities while ensuring the delivery of high-quality statistical outputs.
- Direct biostatistics activities supporting oncology clinical validation studies, ensuring scientific rigor, regulatory alignment, and meaningful interpretation of study results.
- Design and implement innovative statistical methodologies, simulation models, and power analyses to support complex study designs and emerging diagnostic technologies.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and standardization of statistical reports, analysis plans, study documentation, and scientific communications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including clinical, regulatory, scientific, and product development functions to support strategic research initiatives.
- Identify project risks, proactively communicate challenges, and develop practical solutions to ensure successful study execution and delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance team efficiency, scalability, and the quality of statistical processes and deliverables.
- Contribute to long-term biostatistics strategy, helping establish best practices and fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.S. degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline, with a Ph.D. preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in clinical trial biostatistics, preferably within oncology, diagnostics, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical environments.
- Strong expertise in survival analysis, censoring methodologies, and advanced statistical techniques commonly applied in oncology research.
- Proven experience developing innovative study designs, simulation approaches, power calculations, and statistical methodologies for complex clinical programs.
- Demonstrated success leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing statistical teams.
- Deep understanding of clinical trial methodology, diagnostic validation studies, and applicable regulatory requirements, including interactions with health authorities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex statistical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, project management, and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
- Experience working with molecular diagnostics, next-generation sequencing (NGS), circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), or related oncology technologies is highly preferred.
