This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, Retailer Partnerships & Growth based in the United States.

This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role focused on advancing retailer partnerships and accelerating commercial growth.
You’ll help translate market intelligence, retailer needs, and strategic priorities into actionable initiatives.
The role owns relationships with a defined portfolio of priority retailers and drives engagement with senior stakeholders.
You’ll lead complex workstreams from problem definition through execution while coordinating cross-functional teams.
A key focus will be identifying new retail opportunities, developing tailored engagement strategies, and expanding existing relationships.
You’ll operate in a dynamic, collaborative environment where ambiguity, influence, and strong execution are essential.

Accountabilities:

    • Partner with senior leadership to advance the U.S. retailer strategy and translate strategic priorities into structured execution plans.
    • Own the strategy, relationship development, and execution roadmap for a portfolio of priority retailers, ensuring insights translate into meaningful retailer value.
    • Build trusted relationships with senior retailer stakeholders and lead strategic conversations that influence priorities, decisions, and actions.
    • Analyze retail channels, emerging commerce models, market developments, and structural shifts to identify strategic opportunities and capability needs.
    • Lead complex strategic workstreams from problem definition through implementation, synthesizing retailer feedback, market intelligence, and internal perspectives into actionable recommendations.
    • Drive growth across assigned retailer relationships by identifying and qualifying opportunities, developing retailer-specific engagement strategies, and advancing initiatives from concept through proposal, pilot, conversion, and expansion.
    • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to maintain alignment, clear ownership, momentum, and high-quality execution.
    • Build repeatable tools and processes that improve retailer prioritization, strategic initiative management, organizational learning, and progress measurement.
    • Support broader business-growth initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of partnership and commercial approaches.
    • Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
      • Typically 8+ years of significant experience in retail, strategy, consulting, insights, client leadership, or a related field, with a demonstrated record of independently leading complex strategic initiatives.
      • Direct experience working with U.S. retailers is strongly preferred, with an understanding of retailer business models, commercial priorities, supplier dynamics, and market trends.
      • Experience translating research, data, market intelligence, or client insights into clear business recommendations and actionable strategies.
      • Proven ability to manage complex workstreams, develop execution roadmaps, establish priorities, and drive initiatives through implementation.
      • Strong executive communication, presentation, networking, and client-interfacing skills, with the confidence to facilitate senior-level discussions and influence decisions.
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to synthesize multiple information sources and navigate ambiguous business challenges.
      • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to build alignment, influence stakeholders, and coordinate execution across teams.
      • Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to test new approaches, challenge inefficient processes, and develop scalable solutions.
      • High level of ownership, accountability, adaptability, and commitment to measurable client and business outcomes.
