This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Space Analyst based in the United States.
The Associate Space Analyst is an entry-level opportunity focused on space management, category analytics, and retail merchandising support.
You will work closely with category management and sales teams to deliver accurate, data-driven space and assortment solutions.
The role combines analytical work, technical tools, data preparation, and project coordination in a collaborative environment.
You will contribute to space planning projects while developing expertise in specialized software, processes, and category management practices.
This position is also designed as a development pathway toward future Category Management opportunities.
Although the role is remote, geographic flexibility and a willingness to relocate within the U.S. may be required as you progress through the training program.
The position offers exposure to retail strategy, customer data, technology, and cross-functional business initiatives.
Accountabilities
- Manage or support space management and assortment planning projects from data preparation through validation and completion.
- Conduct space planning, drawing, and validation activities for merchandising and retail sets.
- Collect, manipulate, cleanse, combine, analyze, and validate customer data from multiple sources for use in space planning tools.
- Apply retailer standards and merchandising guidelines to ensure accurate and consistent space solutions.
- Maintain and refine scorecards, reports, and performance measurements to track project results.
- Collaborate with IT and technical teams to ensure effective use of relevant technology and analytical platforms.
- Partner with category leadership to plan projects, align expectations, and deliver assortment and space planning initiatives successfully.
- Identify and support space and assortment opportunities that align with broader category strategies.
- Use multiple category management technology platforms to support day-to-day activities.
- Develop advanced proficiency in space planning and assortment software, processes, and analytical solutions.
- Build strong working relationships across sales, category management, technical, and other business teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
- Strong technical and analytical capabilities, including relevant internship experience or professional experience in food and beverage retailing, merchandising, or sales.
- Ability to apply logic, rules, and structured thinking when preparing data for categorization and analysis.
- Above-average proficiency with Microsoft Excel, along with working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information and influence stakeholders at different organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, take initiative, and adapt effectively to changing priorities and processes.
- Willingness and ability to learn new analytical tools, technologies, and space-planning processes quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality analytical outputs.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while managing assignments independently.
- Willingness to travel by air approximately 10% of the time.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands for handling and operating equipment, reach, climb or balance, and perform occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to work primarily in an office environment while periodically working in warehouse settings with variable temperatures and lighting, including occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Candidates should demonstrate geographic flexibility and willingness to relocate within the United States when appropriate for future Category Management opportunities.
