This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a AU Tax Senior Accountant based in Australia.

This is an opportunity to join a growing accounting practice supporting a diverse portfolio of Australian business and individual clients.
You will take ownership of Australian tax and accounting activities across companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals, and self-managed super funds.
The role offers broad exposure to taxation, financial reporting, bookkeeping systems, and client accounting records.
You will work with a variety of industries and client profiles, requiring strong technical knowledge and excellent attention to detail.
The position is ideal for an experienced Australian tax professional who can manage multiple clients and competing deadlines independently.
You will become part of a collaborative, growth-oriented environment where the accounting function works alongside financial planning and mortgage services.
This is a permanent remote opportunity with scope for professional growth as the practice and client base continue to expand.

Accountabilities

    • Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS returns accurately and within required deadlines.
    • Prepare profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation schedules, and other financial reports for business clients.
    • Prepare and lodge income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
    • Review and reconcile client accounting records using platforms such as MYOB, QuickBooks, Xero, and similar systems.
    • Prepare accurate and timely management reports based on client accounting data.
    • Provide technical and practical support on Australian taxation matters, including FBT, CGT, income tax, and GST.
    • Support the management of a diverse portfolio of business, individual, investment property, sole trader, and self-managed super fund clients.
    • Maintain accurate client records and ensure accounting and taxation work complies with relevant Australian requirements.
    • Assist with administrative and corporate compliance activities, including maintaining ASIC corporate registers.
    • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while meeting recurring tax, reporting, and compliance deadlines.
    • Contribute to the continued growth and improvement of the accounting function through reliable, high-quality client service.
    • Requirements

      • 4+ years of professional experience in Australian taxation and accounting.
      • Strong practical knowledge of Australian tax requirements, including GST, BAS/IAS, FBT, CGT, and income tax.
      • Experience preparing tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
      • Experience managing multiple clients and balancing competing priorities and deadlines.
      • Strong understanding of Australian accounting and financial reporting practices.
      • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
      • Excellent time-management skills and the ability to consistently meet important statutory and client deadlines.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
      • Experience with accounting and business software such as LodgeiT, Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft SharePoint.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
      • A proactive, dependable, and growth-oriented approach to work.
      • Experience with self-managed super funds, investment properties, or diverse business clients is advantageous.
