We are looking for a dynamic and consultative sales professional to grow laboratory sales within the science education market. You will manage a diverse customer territory, developing relationships with both existing and prospective customers across multiple market segments. The role combines strategic account management, proactive business development, solution-based selling, and customer engagement. You will work closely with sales leadership, supplier representatives, and internal specialists to deliver solutions that create measurable value for customers. Success in this position requires strong commercial judgment, autonomy, and the ability to understand complex customer needs. Accountabilities:
- Manage a diverse customer territory across multiple market segments, executing sales strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability, retention, and customer satisfaction.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, pipeline management, and the preparation and delivery of compelling proposals.
- Build and strengthen long-term relationships with existing customers through retention and account expansion strategies aligned with their evolving needs.
- Apply a consultative, solution-based sales approach to understand customer requirements, recommend appropriate products and services, and communicate their value effectively.
- Establish trusted relationships with business owners, key decision-makers, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with sales leadership to develop and execute territory strategies aligned with regional and business objectives.
- Partner with supplier representatives to deepen product knowledge, obtain competitive pricing, and improve account profitability.
- Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and relevant industry or business events.
- Leverage available sales tools, marketing resources, processes, and technology to maximize productivity and commercial results.
- Maintain accurate sales and customer information and effectively manage territory activities and priorities.
- Collaborate with internal specialists, management, colleagues, and external partners to deliver effective customer solutions.
- Represent organizational values and professional standards in all customer, supplier, and internal interactions.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in a complex and dynamic sales environment involving multiple stakeholders and solution-based selling.
- Previous B2B sales experience is preferred, particularly within distribution, laboratory, research, scientific, or related environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, management, internal specialists, and colleagues.
- Confidence and professionalism when engaging with business owners and key decision-makers.
- Strong analytical capabilities and demonstrated strategic selling skills.
- Ability to understand customer operations, identify business challenges, and recommend value-added solutions.
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with strong time and territory management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with CRM systems is an asset.
- Fluency in both French and English, written and spoken, is required.
- Sufficient English proficiency to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and colleagues across Canada and with English-speaking business stakeholders.
- Valid driver's license in good standing.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for customer meetings and events.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and customer service capabilities.
- Results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a broader sales organization.
