This role is a high-impact commercial leadership position focused on driving strategic growth across specialized laboratory services within the life sciences and clinical research ecosystem. You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing complex business opportunities in areas such as biobanking, sample preparation, and specialty lab services. The role blends consultative selling with scientific understanding, requiring close collaboration with internal technical experts to shape tailored client solutions. You will build and expand long-term relationships with pharmaceutical, biotech, and CRO partners, while actively contributing to revenue growth across new and existing accounts. Operating in a fast-paced, scientific services environment, you will also represent the organization at industry events and conferences. This is a highly autonomous role where commercial strategy, technical credibility, and relationship-building all directly influence business outcomes.
Accountabilities:
- Drive new business development and revenue growth by identifying, qualifying, and closing opportunities across lab services, including biobanking, sample preparation, and specialty offerings within pharma, biotech, and CRO markets.
- Build and manage long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor while expanding existing accounts and uncovering new commercial opportunities.
- Develop tailored proposals and pricing strategies in collaboration with internal scientific, technical, and operational teams to ensure feasibility, accuracy, and competitiveness.
- Lead the full sales lifecycle from lead qualification through negotiation and contract closure, ensuring alignment with internal capabilities and client requirements.
- Partner closely with marketing, operations, customer support, and technical teams to ensure seamless delivery and consistent client experience.
- Represent the organization at conferences, trade shows, and industry events to strengthen market presence and generate pipeline opportunities.
- Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, pipeline management, and forecasting using CRM tools such as Salesforce.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant sales experience, or Master’s degree with 2+ years, or PhD with 0–1 year in a business development or client-facing scientific role.
- Proven track record in business development or account management within pharma, biotech, CRO, or related life sciences environments.
- Strong experience selling lab services such as biobanking, sample preparation, or specialty laboratory solutions.
- Ability to operate independently while managing complex sales cycles and multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to translate scientific or technical concepts into clear client value propositions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and ability to balance long-term relationship building with short-term revenue goals.
- Willingness to travel up to 35%, including domestic and international travel as required.
