This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Manager, Military Programs based in the United States.

This role is responsible for driving business development and sales growth across strategic military programs in a highly technical B2B environment.
You will work closely with sales and business leadership to understand customer requirements, shape opportunities, and develop long-term program relationships.
The position combines technical engagement, commercial strategy, customer relationship management, and opportunity development.
You will help translate military program needs into product and business opportunities while ensuring customer expectations are understood and addressed.
Your work will directly contribute to revenue growth, new program development, and stronger customer experiences.
The role offers significant autonomy and requires someone who can build a broad network of contacts across military programs and industry stakeholders.

Accountabilities:

    • Manage business development activities across assigned military programs in close collaboration with sales and business management teams.
    • Learn and understand the business, technical, operational, and purchasing needs of each assigned program.
    • Work collaboratively with internal teams to define and implement solutions that address program requirements.
    • Promote and demonstrate programmable power technologies and communicate their value to customers and prospects.
    • Drive sales within existing military programs while identifying, developing, and pursuing new program opportunities.
    • Maintain consistent and organized follow-up on sales opportunities through email, phone calls, meetings, demonstrations, and other customer interactions.
    • Support product definition and development discussions by gathering customer requirements and translating market needs into actionable business and technical insights.
    • Develop and maintain a broad network of contacts and relationships within assigned military programs and target accounts.
    • Partner with regional sales leadership to close existing opportunities and develop new business across military programs.
    • Maintain accurate CRM records covering customer communications, quotations, meetings, demonstrations, opportunities, and forecasts.
    • Provide weekly updates on ongoing activities, pipeline development, opportunity status, and progress toward objectives.
    • Collect and analyze relevant customer, market, and sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
    • Participate in trade shows, technical events, open houses, sales meetings, and other business development activities.
    • Facilitate discussions and negotiate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders on both commercial and technical matters.
    • Use appropriate AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and cost efficiency while critically evaluating AI-generated outputs.
    • Travel approximately 50% of working days, primarily by air, to meet customers and support business development activities.
    • Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant technical discipline is preferred.
      • MBA with a concentration in Marketing is desirable.
      • At least 5 years of sales experience within a manufacturing, technology, or other technical environment.
      • Experience working with military programs and understanding military program sales cycles is strongly preferred.
      • B2B technical sales experience, particularly involving complex products or technology solutions, is highly desirable.
      • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage strategic customer relationships and sales opportunities.
      • Strong understanding of technical and commercial sales processes, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
      • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills, including the ability to negotiate commercial and technical matters with customers and internal teams.
      • Ability to understand customer requirements and collaborate with internal business teams to develop appropriate solutions.
      • Self-directed and independent work ethic, with the ability to establish priorities, manage deadlines, and measure progress against defined objectives.
      • Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills, with an objective approach to evaluating opportunities and overall business impact.
      • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to prepare clear, professional documents and customer-facing materials.
      • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
      • Strong professional integrity, sound judgment, and exemplary ethical character.
      • Demonstrated willingness and ability to use AI tools appropriately to improve productivity and decision-making, identify suitable AI use cases, and critically assess AI-generated information.
      • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of working days, with most travel conducted by air.
      • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with sales, business management, and technical teams.
