This is a high-impact, client-facing commercial banking role focused on driving new business acquisition and revenue growth within the Middle Market segment. You will operate as a key external growth driver, identifying and developing new commercial relationships through proactive prospecting, networking, and strategic market engagement. The role requires close collaboration with relationship managers, credit teams, and product specialists to design and deliver tailored financial solutions. You will be responsible for building a strong pipeline of opportunities and converting prospects into long-term clients. Success in this role is defined by your ability to originate new business, deepen market presence, and contribute directly to portfolio growth. Accountabilities:
- Drive new client acquisition within the Middle Market segment through proactive prospecting, referral generation, and strategic networking
- Build, manage, and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified commercial opportunities aligned with revenue and growth targets
- Develop and strengthen relationships with centers of influence such as attorneys, accountants, private equity firms, and industry groups
- Partner with internal teams including Relationship Managers, Treasury, Capital Markets, and Credit to structure integrated financial solutions
- Oversee seamless onboarding and transition of new clients into long-term relationship management teams
- Maintain deep awareness of market trends, competitive dynamics, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities
- Achieve or exceed production goals related to new relationships, loans, deposits, and fee-based revenue
- Ensure all activities comply with internal risk, credit, and regulatory standards while maintaining strong pipeline reporting and forecasting discipline
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of experience in commercial banking, business development, or relationship-based financial sales
- Strong understanding of commercial lending, deposit products, treasury management, and broader financial solutions
- Proven track record of originating and closing new commercial client relationships
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Strong sales discipline with experience managing pipelines, forecasts, and performance targets
- Advanced consultative selling and ability to tailor financial solutions to complex client needs
- Strong business acumen, risk awareness, and ability to operate within regulatory and compliance frameworks
